What gift are you most excited about giving? Was it something they asked for or maybe you just found the perfect gift for someone? Did they like it as much as you hoped they would?

It's something my Mother-in-law would never ask for, but I think she'll love it... Clicky. I had a photo of my kiddos hugging made into a 3D version- I even found a lighted base for it.

I've got my mum a book about the town she grew up in and there's loads of references in there to her parents, who were very well known locally (for good reasons, nothing bad!). I know she hasn't got it, so I can't wait for her to read it.

I got my entire family (all 15 of us) hockey tickets and a suite to view it from. I can't wait to give it to them later today.

The things I hand-make. Mostly food. I like making something of my own creation for my family anyway, but especially so over the holidays.
That said, a package to a friend may have got lost, and could well, should it turn up, have developed its own sentience and culture by now.

my mom. She flipped out at these really soft socks I found for her (for Daddy) last summer. I found her a whole blanket! she is going to curl up in it and never come out.

nothing like the gift of botulism

I'm probably giving my niece a unicycle to continue the family tradition. She loves to master new things, and she's super athletic. I'm not sure if her parents will be annoyed, but my brother rode, so he can't object (and yes I ride).

I usually put a lot of effort into gifts - so much so that it can become pressurising! One year, I wrote and illustrated a children’s story, based on the life of a real person as a gift to them. Last year I spent months collecting someone’s favourite limited edition drink, as I knew it wouldn’t be around any more by Christmas time. I also made a special photo gift for someone, in the shape of a particular word. That made the recipient cry!

This year, I’ve gone for things I know people will like, but nothing really jumps out like the above gifts. I’m not really celebrating this year. So if I really had to pick, I would say I’m looking forward to someone receiving the glass set I bought them, and another person I got a keyring that has significance behind it. I really wanted to make things this year, but I started the new job in the Spring, and it unfortunately hasn’t left me with much free time.

Company. Having someone over, who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day. :)

My kiddo really really wanted a pair of purple crocs..I held out and wasn’t going to get them but then I went to a store Friday that had them on clearance...

Mine wanted some too. Some trends just shouldn’t come back! But they are super comfy.

I went off-script this Christmas and got an Airbnb for the family on Tybee island for the summer, trying to institute a family trip every year. I think everyone will be really surprised and happy about it with the exception of my pops who won’t trust Airbnb because it has an app.

I found a website that allows creates specialized story books for siblings. You create the cartoon characters and then provide the names. Ordered one for my nieces.
