Democratic Rep. Peter Welch invited President Trump to testify before Congress, prompting laughter from the House Intelligence Committee hearing room.

“I say to my colleague, I’d be glad to have the person who started it all come in and testify. President Trump is welcome to take a seat right there,” Welch said, prompting giggles throughout the room.

Yeah. Such an absurd thought that people laughed. Not because a president cannot be deposed, Clinton was.

It will never happen because the pathological liar cannot tell the truth. It is absurd to even think about him swearing an oath to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth - so much so that even the thought makes people laugh out loud.

I'd like to have them ask him why he stole charitable contributions from Veterans and what he did with the money.

Your POUTUS sucks, deplorables.

In America the burden of proof isn't on Trump and there is no American legal standard that requires him to testify against himself.

Innocent persons frequently insist on testifying on their own behalf. Or at least let others in their inner circle offer exculpatory testimony.

Trump is, and always has been a coward.

He disgraces the office of President every single day.

Yeah I gotta side with the Fox crowd on this one. NOBODY should ever have to testify against themselves for any reason ever. Lots of people choose to, both guilty and innocent but lots more also say fuck that and they have every right to.
Trump is whatever the hell he is, some kind of pumpkin carrot corn hybrid I think but never mind. What I'm saying is he is no different.
However would I relish watching him testify under oath and the subsequent conviction for perjury? Hell yeah.

Others in his circle that could do so aren't permitted in the hearing. They want tell "a" story, not "the" story.

He is welcome to take the oath and plead the 5th

Like who? Mulvaney? Giuliani? They are the real inner circle. I’m sure they’d be welcomed.

They are terrified of Mulvaney testifying. That is why he was blocked by the WH. Bolton better get in there and take the oath soon.

They should start finding those defying the subpoena to testify in contempt and rounding them up.

The subpoenaed ones are, why aren't they attending?

If you dont show up to tell your story, dont whine about no one listening

If he has information that is exculpatory, that means ex, taking away, culpable, blame, then we look forward to seeing it,” she said in an interview that aired Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” Trump “could come right before the committee and talk, speak all the truth that he wants if he wants,” she said.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer echoed that suggestion.

“If Donald Trump doesn’t agree with what he’s hearing, doesn’t like what he’s hearing, he shouldn’t tweet. He should come to the committee and testify under oath. And he should allow all those around him to come to the committee and testify under oath,” Schumer told reporters. He said the White House’s insistence on blocking witnesses from cooperating begs the question: “What is he hiding?”

Your move.

Trump says he will strongly consider testifying under oath in response to Speaker Pelosi.

yeah right.

Place your bets!

The chances of Trump testifying to Congress under oath are about as good as finding the ten floors missing from Trump Tower, New York.

It's up to the prosecutor (Schiff) to prove Trump's guilt.

They were not laughing when it got Bill Clinton Impeached.

Probably be a cake walk if Trump wasn’t stonewalling and ordering people to defy subpoenas.

Which brings up the question “why is Trump stonewalling and ordering people to defy subpoenas?”

No it isn't.

THis isn't a trial and Schiff isn't a prosecutor.

How many times can it be explained to you dimwits that the TRIAL takes in the SEN-ATE.

Ask him if the impeachment proceedings are illegal.

Make the traitor say it again - the traitor!
