We all have firsts for everything and most of those have a story. And with the dissolution of the audio thread, I’d like to attempt to hear about the story behind your firsts (details at your discretion*) in the same way any Q&A thread works. First person posts the answer about their first and then asks about the next first. Example: first international trip, I’d answer and then ask the next poster about another first.

First date at a swanky restaurant

A restaurant called Pierre's in Waterloo Ontario (long gone due to a mysterious fire). The waiter made Cesar salad at the table. I had never seen that.

When I was maybe 20-ish, I went out drinking with a friend, just to my local. We met a weird old chap who just talked on an on about Renaissance art and the mysteries within it, and frankly he was really funny in an unintentional way. I kept on drinking, for some reason, pint after pint. I didn't normally do this, I was always very measured, and I knew full well what I was doing but the buzz was different, and kind of fun. I think I downed 10 pints of beer, and getting home was extremely difficult. We picked up fritters from the nearby Chinese chip shop and he made his train, while I stumbled back to my house. The next morning was bad, and while I did end up getting properly drunk maybe 2 more times after that (once on drinks I didn't realise were alcoholic until it was too late and once on shots), that caused me to put a hard limit on how much I'll have when out. Also, my wallet wasn't happy
