The Isolated Blurt Thread XXIX : So Stupid

I don't understand how anyone owns a dog and does not make any effort whatsoever to train them. As if you just buy, them feed them, and let them annoy the neighbors. At this point I'm not sure how long I've lived here but at least a couple of years and the dog across the street still barks incessantly at my comings and goings. It's no skin off my nose, the dog and I sleep days, but they've got to listen to that dog bark whenever I come or go at some odd hours. You never even hear them shush it. I'm sure if you ask the dog he would insist that his owners are no doubt pleased at his vigilance.

I've never met a dog that wasn't happiest when he's performing some task.

When a dog finally gets that you placing a biscuit on his nose for him to remain motionless until given permission is a parlor trick.. the dog is more pleased with performing trick that he is at getting the biscuit. I had (what you would cal an Alsatian) that would pause and grin for a second once I said release, before flicking it into the air and then catching it. I had an overly enthusiastic Yellow Lab that would try the same trick but would alternatively wiggle the biscuit off wagging its tail or miss catching it.

Gigi rumbles when the neighbors make any movement but when I say “quiet” she does this whisper boof that cracks me up every time. We lived on our farm for way too long, this whole living in a subdivision is rough on an old girl who isn’t used to constant human movement. And on the dog.

He has what I think of as politeness training (no pointless barking, no jumping up, no pinching your food) and the basics (sit, down, come & wait), plus the household stuff (open the door for me, find the toy, get out of the room, go to your bed), but he's still horrible on the leash (because the bodybuilding toyboy walks him) and has terrible focus. He could do so much more.

Edward has all the essentials of a polite family dog, and his raison d'etre is the protect home and family. The only thing I think would really suit him is tracking... but instead we're doing silly tricks. Because competition.

I feel Charles missed his calling as an assistance dog. But learning tricks will do him good.

and i find myself unwilling to watch the seventh season of letterkenny.

because the sixth one was just kinda boring.

also, i don't have any weed.

All our dog wants to do is hold hands

Y'know, I can totally understand why pressed basic beige bitches like that cheerleading cipher toady have to make vanity threads to me...that I do get, because he, and they, are pathetic. This place is their last social refuge and they are naturally adverse to others who see them for what they are and to who pulls their cards on their bullshit. Clear as crystal.

What I can't understand is how you gonna fuck up Martin Luther King JR.'S name in the title?

There's a JR. at the end his name! Otherwise, you are making a technical reference to his father!

Why are all of you Lit GB schmucks SO FUCKING LAZY?

I didn't go through years and years and years of suffering the Cades and Killswitches and Blobfishes and other various satellite carbon copies on here just to settle for these broke-ass fraudulent bottom-shelf versions coming at me! :D

Even more irritating is that the Yankees dropped this gottdamn game! Twice in their yard now. What the fuck, guys!:mad::mad:

that too.

also, what the yankees are going through right now should worry the hell out of the nationals. sitting on your butt while your opponents are out their working theirs off is not a good thing.

Well, it used to be that having a good rest going into any finals set instead of directly coming off a heat with yesterday's sweat still trickling and muscles aching was a good thing.

But there's that pesky thing called "momentum" that the Yankees squandered after the first game...

I doubt that any team wants to run into a well rested Nationals pitching staff after what they did to the Cardinals.

The Nat's hitters might be a bit off their timing after a break, but their pitchers should be ready.

there's a thin line between well rested and ice cold. i guarantee you the nats are hoping the yankees don't suddenly get their act together and make a series out of it. if they do they're likely fucked.

seriously, it's a well known issue. ask any big ten team about what it's like to be super well rested come january. ask the colts of the aughts when they rested their main starters the last game nearly every season besides the only one where they actually won the super bowl.

when it comes to the playoffs it's better to be hot than rested.

The Yankees had some bad luck in that Game 4 was delayed, because Houston didn't have a solid pitching plan for that game. The delay allowed them to avoid that.

It's a shame too, because we've all been waiting so many years for something good to finally happen for the long-suffering Yankees.

Hey, they are going to close Rikers Island. Somebody is going to make mega money on that deal. I bet the fix is in now.
