Welcome back. We are glad you are here. I look forward to seeing your pics.

Morning all,

Has been a painful week due to work to remove trees and other stuff for the new fence. Glad to have a rest.

My footy team has made the AFL Grand Final on tomorrow Melbourne time. They are the favourites so should be a good match. The street parade for the teams is on today in Melbourne so the city has gone footy mad.

This getting old stuff sure gets the attention of the medical fraternity. Will be visiting various medical facilities doing tests next month. Not a tour you really want to go on especially since you can't drink.

I am over fifty, fifty six in fact, and still going strong - although some days I feel considerably older. Although my output isn't as prolific as it once was, I still manage the occasional story.

Morning all,

My footy team won the AFL Grand Final on the weekend so happy about that, even purchased the mug.

Various medical tests happening this month and the knee keeps on hurting but at least the back doesn't hurt anymore, plus the weather is getting a little warmer here in the south of Aussie land so makes you want to get out and do stuff.

Hope the week is good for you.

Good luck on the tests. It's finally getting a little less humid here so it feels a little cooler.

Congrats on your footy team.

Hey Starry,

Hope you are doing well. Will see what the tests reveal and deal with each outcome as it comes. What I do know is it's going to cost me despite our rather good health system here in Aussie land. If I was on a govt pension card it would be free but overall I'm better off on my pension.

Yep happy about the footy team they've been in the finals for the last three years so getting the premiership two out of three years is so different to the previous decade. I even bought the coffee mug :D

Good Morning 50+ers. I was reminded last night of one of the main factors of my advancing age when I lay in bed to watch the baseball playoff game. It began at 8:00 PM here on the east coast and I was asleep long before the game was over.

In my youth, I would see the whole game (if my team was playing, I'd watch it in a bar) and then watch the post game analysis well into the evening.

On top of it all, there was a late game rally that decided the game.

Oh well. There will be some afternoon playoff games for we 50+ers. :)

Morning Play Grounders. Been a hard week here because it was my KT tape (works like braces) off week. All my muscles want to drift back when it's off & then retaped Thursday morning and I'm a tired mess now.
BUT it's Friday!!!:rose:

Hello one and all.
A tall Irishman here who joined the over 50s club a short while ago
Been on the boards a few years. Started to write a story, realised it was terrible and scrapped it.
Two favourite things in life are beer and hurling 🍻

Hi there folks, one of the amusing things about this thread, is that many of the people who first commented when it was originally posted in January 2010, would now qualify for the 'Over 60's' thread. They do say that life flies by when you're having fun ;) I'm one of them by the way haha
