Kik vs Snap chat

I have never used Kik and I see so many people on here using it. I was curious as to why Kik over Snap Chat?

Kik. I only really use Snapchat with my daughter for the stupid silly faces. Skype is a bitch and puts me visible when I don't want to be, so I rarely load it anymore. Only now do I load it if I am making video/voice calls. Snapchat sucks for my old memory though because if the person doesn't reply anytime within an hour, I've forgotten what I said.

Skype....I use the chat feature at work, since there are like 20+ floors in my work building, and I'd rather not be in the elevator all day...

Kik? I think my 21yo niece has that on her phone?

WhatsApp is not too bad, but I haven't used it in a very long time.

I still prefer Hangouts for online texting, just because.

And, btw...SC can be screenshot, so I wouldn't put much stock in any "delete" function...or self destruct apps.

Besides, if anyone is sending pics of their privates and perky bits over the interwebs, and they DON'T already know the recipient is keeping all them photos?

Snapchat’s got the whole story thing and it’s clears its history automatically which can be plus but there are a bunch of ways to screencap it without a ton of effort so it’s not as great as people sometimes make it out to be. Kik is a super solid chat app, it does all the stuff you think it will as well as you’d expect. Skype has become a work thing for me since it stopped being lync so personally I try to stay away from it outside work.

Personally, I like kik but any of the usual suspects (hangouts, WhatsApp, etc...) are fine and for one reason or another I keep pretty much all of them on my phone.
