Fresh donuts are possible still available but there was a line already forming as I brought them out.

I caught a glimpse of my newest Contest story on my way to bed. eight straight fives. Well, that ain't the case now.

Got to do some chores and packing before leaving to visit the 'rents and the sister tomorrow.

My latest story (not for the contest) started with five straight fives, and has gone down steadily (well, it bounced around some last night) since. That's a lot more disconcerting that starting with a buncha fours and going up...

All the usual weekend work plus elderberries are in season. I'm still researching Iwo Jima too.

I also have a book of poetry from 1979 to read, written by Rod McKuen. My book club theme was book titles that evoke the sense of touch. They're surprisingly hard to find. Most book titles have words that evoke the sense or sight of sound, etc.

I got my outdoor work done by 11 AM: harvesting, planting, fertilizing, irrigating, mowing. Now I can stay mostly inside this afternoon while the Mojave desert gives us a call. The weather service is predicting that we'll set new record highs for the next two days.

I think that high pressure cell that gave us our 100-101 temps last week has backed up over you. Sorry but blame it on a Yankee cold front headed our way this weekend.

Yeah, from a 5 the only way is down, and down, and down.

MP, sight and sound get the most publicity so touch is almost always secondary. Anyway, touch can be to personal to some people and focuses the brush to tightly.

I finished the second chapter of my tease story. I'll drop it in the pot tomorrow and see how it's received.

Regardless of who I blame, the effect is the same. We have dry air moving directly east off the mojave across AZ and NM. The humidity is heading for single digits and the temperature is heading for triple digits.

I think what they call Bank Holidays in the UK are what we call Federal Holidays in the US. They're the only holidays when banks are allowed to stay closed.

Our next Federal Holiday is Labor Day, which is a week from tomorrow.

A Bank holiday is when banks, government offices and many employers shut down for the day. Tomorrow is the late August Bank Holiday, the last Bank Holiday of the year before Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

A hot one in August though the kids have gone back to school weeks ago. The extension of the school year makes no sense though, especially when families are still using these months to go on family vacations. But even doubly so if the kids have to study in this heat.

It's a quiet night on AH.

I wrote a little under 900 words yesterday, but they were good words. My female protagonist finally came clean and told her story. Today, not so much. I wrote a few words, then worked and napped then worked some more.

This story may or may not become a Summer Lovin' story. If I don't make the deadline then I'll post it anyway. The story is a Romance, so it'll get pretty good exposure in my target audience even without the contest.

Didn't manage to write much the last few days, sadly. Finally got to writing last night, but I was tired and only managed about 500 words. Story is nearly done though, just need one good writing day to finish up the draft. Perhaps today is the day?

I'm not sure what's sexy about guns on drones, but there's some other interesting stuff you can do with them. They make excellent spying tools with the camera for a voyeurism story, for example. Or you could stick some other things on them...

Drones are noisy. I use a DJI Phantom 4 at work and you can hear the thing at least 200m away in a quiet area. Even the new Mavic is pretty noisy.

A bit of artistic license would be required. Now if Mr Dyson produced one . . .

Woweee - “One Night in Xanadu” climbed to #2 in Romance on Wattpad. #2 out of 1.4 million stories tagged #Romance. It’s been there for an entire day now and it’s now my most read story on Wattpad. Exciting moments in one’s life. It’s not exactly your typical romance either. Early morning coffee to celebrate.

Got most of the packing done over the weekend, only bits and pieces to do now. The hard work starts on Friday. Groan. I don’t think I’m gonna get away with a mere supervisory role somehow.
