So I am notorious among friends and family for not knowing song lyrics. Truly terrible, but I try! I swear I try to get them right, but sometimes you just have messed up the same song so many times, it sticks.

So here’s a common mess up for me:

If you like pina coladas.... getting lost in the rain? Getting caught?!? I know there is rain!

I mangle the lyrics of so many songs that I could fill an entire thread all by myself. I will save you and everyone else the sordid trouble of reading them.

Several years ago, I attended a John Fogerty concert. For years, people used to sing There’s a bathroom on the right instead of There’s a bad moon on the rise during the end of the chorus of the song Bad Moon Rising.

When he sang the song at the concert I attended, he literally sang There’s a bathroom on the right during one chorus while pointing to the bathrooms, which really were on his right!

I sing to myself all the time and I don’t know the words to any songs. I just make them up as I go. I thought everybody did that!

“Getting caught in the rain” is the line darlin.

I used to sing "Black water woman" by the guess who.

Not like it was a favorite song or anything. But probably sang that for over twenty five years every time I heard it on the radio.

Then one Halloween had Halloween channel on and the announcer dude said "clap for the wolfman"

still blows my mind , never was quite sure what a black water woman was HA

There is a band from New Zealand that I really like and so when we got back from our trip to there I spent a lot of time listening to their music again.

I always liked that in one of their songs they referenced another band that I really liked (from England).

As I was listening to one of their songs on Amazon music which often gives you the song lyrics and was gobsmacked and disappointed to realize that they were not saying "she has a Catherine Wheel song" but in fact 'She has her Catherine Wheels ON'
