Hi to the night owls! Rough one today, up at 5:30 trying to figure out where the water dripping through the bedroom ceiling was coming from, on the roof at 6:45 sorting it out, and haven't had 5 mins since. Hope the rain stops for cycling tomorrow.

Afternoon Dee, all... given the vast volume of water that fell in 20 minutes last night I could swap for some of that dry heat... the road looked like a river and the gutters couldn't cope with the water off the roof, just flowing straight down the walls.

Must be harvest time then!

Shame it's not raining in Birmingham on the Aussie cricket team

Thunder and lightning, loads! It does leave the air smelling and feeling very different, fresh and clean! Just glad I wasn't in it, the force of the water was astonishing. Apparently the weekend is set to be another wild and wet one... and I mean weather wise

goodness, i miss this thread. simply too much americanness on the gb - the vocal minority loves them some guns and put the priorities of them being able to own as many as they want (bonus points for rapid-fire) above and beyond tightening gun ownership controls that might save lives. 4 mass fatal shootings this past week!

Janey is right that there are not many of us left dropping in here these days. I remember when this thread used to be like a whirlwind with the speed at which it moved.

Still, we keep the lights on, even though we can no longer still a pound for the meter off Mark every night .

Oh, and as for the US, everything that has happened over the decades regarding guns is one of the main reasons why I never want to travel there, let alone live there.

lights are still on, carpet's still sticky, right? bloody meters

too hot to be outdoors right now; temp's about 90ish but with the high humidity it feels closer to 100. ridiculous. the cows are cooling off in the big pond, and the dog's taken herself off to a shady spot with the soil scraped bare to cool herself whilst still keeping an eye on the big beasts
