Would you change it if you could? Have you changed it?

I hate mine. Years ago, I could have changed it without much trouble. Can't now, too complicated as far as changing records and dealing with known people.

I like mine. It's unique. I even have a "junior: who shares it with me. It was my grandfather's name. It's a keeper.

My first name is fine, albeit a bit boring.
My last name was hell growing up, as it was easily mocked by kids in school.
However, I'm used to it now, and changing either part would be a pain.
It would take me FOREVER to learn to sign a different name, or even respond to one.
God help me if I ever need to change it for witness protection or something.

I like my name, the spelling isn’t the common way it’s spelled, and I like that. The annoying thing is that people often get my name wrong - and it’s really not a difficult name! One guy at work calls me Nancy - my name is nowhere near Nancy!

I hated my last name growing up. I thought it was weird and embarrassing. I wanted something “normal” like Smith. My sister always loved our last name though. Now I’m older, I don’t care about it one way or the other, but I’m used to it. If I ever got married, it would be a big decision whether or not to change my last name now.

I don't like my given name for fairly obvious reasons. I love my chosen name, however. It represents everything that I aspire to be. :)

I like my first name because it's uncommon. I was only disappointed as a kid to find out there were no bicycle license plates with my name on them or necklaces, etc.

YES. THIS. I actually like my first and last names together, because they sound incredibly unique - and they genuinely go well together. But, as a kid, I think I only ever found one pre-made personalized item at a souvenir shop at the beach once. I still have that little plastic plaque. 😉

Yes, I do. Most know my first name. For me, it's also uncommon. It was originally from a book. A couple of movies were made with it as the sole title. It was risque at the time it came out, yet tame by Lit standards now. Also, not many in my race carry this name, yet it fits me. Like me, it stands alone. I hardly ever find it in personalized, already made wares, but that is exactly what makes it unique. Just like me.

I feel like I need to know now!

Also, welcome back.. it’s lovely to see you back on the boards :)

Not really. It’s kind of a dime a dozen type name. I like my middle name because I’m named after a really amazing person. It’s meaningful and makes me smile.

I’ve no issue with my name but will readily say that it’s a hand me down name and that there was teasing growing up due to being the third to receive it. I love looking up the meanings of names and the history behind them.

I love my first name, because I love how people say it.
I miss my maiden name.
I severely dislike my last name, as it is related to my ex.
I'll change it back to my maiden name when I can.

I hate my name. It's a perpetual child name. No one would hear it and picture a grown ass adult. Unfortunately my middle name isn't any better. :(

Nope.

I like my username here but I hate my actual name 😅

My name is ok, but what I can't stand is that it is a name that gets an "ie" or "y" ending like Jimmy or Frankie. I still hate that. My kids both got names that don't lend themselves to a diminutive like that.

Yeah, I know: it worked for Johnny Carson and Jimmy Buffet.
