If you're into Horror, I'd say the first 3 are good, but thr first one was more serious. Part 2 and 3, had the main Villian using puns and wise cracks, but still scary to a degree. Beyond that Wes Craven's New Night mare was pretty good and the latest remake was good, but not better than the original. I wouldn't recommend 4,5,6 or Freddy vs. Jason, if you want horror

I shall defer my proper answers til I'm back home. Otherwise I might pick a favourite restaurant and then another one surpasses it etc etc.

I will say that I've noticed changes in France in the last few years.

1) Where have all the cafetières gone? It's all Senseo this, filter that, Nespresso the other now. Didn't the French invent the cafetière?

2) Where have all the bidets gone? Great way to wash up after sex. (Or to wash your smelly cycling shoes... ). Didn't the French invent the bidet?

3) Where have all the stick-thin French women gone? This is not a bad thing. Surprising, but for the most part they are looking... healthier...

Fair play to our host, though - there were also some very nice salon shampoo and conditioner products for humans, very expensive looking *tosses shiny locks*

I'm far too old for that sort of goings on...

I've never been much into 'modern' music, really (I know, shocker, right? ), so it'd have to be some sort of classical equivalent, like Glyndebourne, except I don't like opera... #fussy And there's have to be proper comfy beds and good food and toilets, yes actual proper toilets. And not too loud. And no mud.

I'm really not cut out for Glasto....

There were some pouches of dog food in the kitchen too! But it was OK, we'd already located the supermarché by that point...

I liked that they were welcoming of pets, actually, so few places are. Not that I have one to bring to Europe, but I have friends/rellies who do, and their options are often very limited.

One thing I have noticed in France this trip is how welcomed dogs are in restaurants. They just sit under the owners' table, there's no problem. Much less accepted at home in the UK, I don't know about the US. But it's really not a big deal. Or shouldn't be.

That all looks like Paris, of which I am not fond. The people are rude, it's disproportionately expensive, and much of it smells of wee. It really does.

I need to get that out of my system. We are going to stay with a friend in a few days who lives on the outskirts of Paris and H says I'm not allowed to diss it....

Yep, still in France, although working north, home in under a week now.

I hope they do Notre Dame justice. I'm sure they will. I can't see how just reconstructing what was there before could be bettered, actually. But I'm kind of a traditionalist, and what do I know

Dogs and other pets are a health violation in most locations in the States. The exceptions are service dogs for the blind and a few others. Sadly the emotional support dog (or animal) has gotten out of control here. It's being horribly taken advantage of. Those emotional support animals can get into restaurants, onto transit busses and airplanes, etc. Very not good. A classic example of something good being corrupted.

I had the opportunity to go to Glastonbury from Uni - mine was in the south-west, only an hour or so from the festival. One of my housemates went, but I declined for reasons I don't remember (lack of interest in the music, I suspect ). She came back after four days absolutely filthy, I mean ingrained, like she was tanned, and tired as fuck, but very happy. Which was nice to see!

Did you go, thirty years ago? When you were ?

I like the knickers too, very much. I may model them at some point...

I've read about the emotional support animal thing, didn't someone insist on taking a turkey on a flight?

I really don't mind well-behaved dogs under the table in restaurants - that seems like it would only be a health risk to the owner if they're touching it.

I will say, though, yesterday in a café at lunchtime there was a couple with one of those little white dogs with its fringe tied in a bow, sitting on their laps in turn. And the guy was picking crud out of its eyes with his fingernails. And then his lunch came and he ate it with his fingers without even going to wash his hands first

Yuck.
