Why is no one talking about Top Secret?

I've been waiting for someone to post something about the report that a Trump-appointed adviser over-ruled the standing FBI experts who refused 30+ security clearances. When Kushner's application for higher security was sent to the CIA, they responded by saying WTF - why was he even given Top Secret clearance?

How can national security decisions be so easily influenced by politicians? Would you trust any politician to keep a secret or take a bullet for you? Of course, we don't know what secrets Kushner and others have seen or what they have done with that knowledge and I'm sure they're doing an amazing job, many many of them doing amazing amazing things...

Traditionally it was the Brits whose security was full of communists and spies. I guess if you have a president who begged the Kremlin to spy on other presidential candidates in his campaign, you get what you voted for.

This should stir up some activity. Maybe some more congressional Republicans will realize that now's the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.

It's not new news. We knew last summer that Trumpers not qualified for the clearances were getting them and/or being given access without the clearances. Donald Trump couldn't get one himself if he was put through the normal process. That isn't news. We've known it for some time.

"We"? Show me the link or it didn't happen

Do you have any idea how stupid that post is? I knew it was happening. You're responsible for your own life. I'm not your babysitter. The whole "clearances weren't actually given" issue was hashed out in the context of the wife-abuse allegations against Porter. Look it up yourself or don't bother to try to keep up with these discussions. But flash news, babe. Things do happen whether or not you were aware of them.

I'm not blasé about this issue at all. The fact that criminals routinely get security clearances under the Trump administration is one more reason why we can no longer wait for Mueller to finish his criminal investigations.

The point is that the U.S. is in international danger right now, and that impeachment hearings in the House would have a lower bar to meet than a criminal investigation. Co-conspirators and witnesses should be interviewed by the House of Representatives right now, in the open for the public to witness. The Trump campaign and the Trump administration need to be exposed in a much more public way than has been taking place so far under the Mueller investigation. House hearings and Mueller's work can take place simultaneously.

Making friends....Making Friends...… At 78 (your age) you'd think you'd have learned to interact with people without insults.

Now of course I'll be attacked …...Bring it gramps :D

Hi howadoing and nice to meet ya KeyWest pool man. Whose alt are you?

If it was such old news, I wonder that CNN and other agencies are reporting it now. The point of the news story is not the lack of clearances, but that Trump's appointee was over-ruling the FBI professionals. I expect you knew that too

I formerly was sr71plt, and made no secret about the change. I'd reached 1,000 stories under the sr71plt account, which were unwieldly to handle, so I changed to a new account and noted that everywhere. So, thanks for the nasty jab, but you're toothless on that. Something else that was fully reported here and is true whether or not you informed yourself on it.

CNN is bringing it up again now because it got buried the first time and there are new leakers in the intel world reconfirming there were (and still are) turndowns. Yes, I knew that too. It was all reported before, specifically on Kushner after the media started asking how Porter could get a top secret clearance to do his job in the White House when he had been accused of domestic abuse by two former wives. The answer at the time was that he hadn't been cleared yet--and neither had Kushner, nor Sanders, nor some others--and the FBI had said they wouldn't clear them. Trump was just directing that they be given whatever they wanted to see (which he has the authority to do--and there are many in the intel community who think he's giving the Russians whatever they want to see also). You could have known it too if you were following the Porter-Hope Hicks (she didn't get cleared either) story last summer. And it's not my fault you didn't get it then. And you don't have to know everything for it to be true. Do the research yourself. I'm sure it's available on an Internet search.

What's with the hissy-fit over a Brit who does not happen to follow all the minutia taking place in the GB?

^^ Dunno. Lots of topics get recycled and rehashed. Ain't no thang.

It was this really stupid comment she posted:

I appreciate your earlier longer post, which was useful. Sure, topics get recycled and no, I don't read every thread in Politics or GB as some clearly do.

I'm surprised my "post a link or it didn't.." ruffled your feathers, because it's commonly used in a humorous context both in the GB and elsewhere. Not my fault I didn't read the post you'd had your sense of humour removed.

Anyway, lets leave it there: these sorts of cat fights are not worth my time, nor yours.

It's a favorite game of Trumpettes on the board to pretend something didn't happen/isn't happening that did happen/is happening and to jerk other posters around by demanding they go off and provide citations (which the Trumpettes then pretend didn't happen). Humor is not involved.

I'm sure Stickygirl was saying that tongue-in-cheek. She's a good person who happens to have a wicked sense of humor.

Since he's acting like an asshole to you for something he's done and you and Coati have quoted him .... why not do some fact checking. A minute of my life to steer people in the right direction is worth it.

Here's some facts:

KeithD insults his own behavior. Don't take him seriously.

Quote source?

I asked you for source citations on your assertion that Kavanaugh's family is getting death threats. If you made the assertion you have the source citations, right? Are they a secret? I haven't seen the reports; they might be there. But you don't seem to want to evidence your assertions.

Source citation? And include where it's in the FBI director's job to release FBI information through a non-FBI friend. You might dance around the question of why he didn't release it directly in his own name.

Source please on Hillary Clinton signing an NDA for anything. That's not how cabinet-level appointments work. If it was, Trump's cabinet would be in a whole load of shit. But . . . but . . . I guess it is anyway. What a swamp the Trumpettes here are supporting.

Isn't the jury still out on Hiss' guilt? Do you have an authoritative source declaring his innocence?

The translation for this is that Boxlicker isn't going to actually research this; he's going to doubt a statement purely on his bias. He's going to use the deflect and obfuscate approach so often employed by his ilk.

If you think the statement is untrue, cite your source, Boxlicker. Otherwise shut the fuck up and stop playing your games.

More times that KeithD has asked for sources are located in this link, not all of them ask for sources, but enough of them to show he's a Trumpette or behaves like them .

I don't buy the Bill Cosplay thesis that Keith is a Trump cult follower. Keith was a bit testy with Stickygirl, but I am not going to get associated with any beef that Cosplay has with Keith.

And you shouldn't. It's sarcasm based on behavior, not political beliefs.
