'Tis the season, fa la la la la, and all that

What's your favorite holiday cookie of the winter season? I'm partial to Russian tea cakes/Mexican wedding cookies and my favourite little tweak to it is to toast the pecans and walnuts before adding them to the dough.

We used too help my mom press pizzelles on the iron. She made me a special batch with vanilla rather than anise; still not a fan of it.

I like the peanut butter with hersey kisses .....the white powered sugar crushed nut ball ones...(forget the name) My FAV;s

The white powdered sugar ones like what I posted above? They have a few different names. Snowballs, Russian tea cakes, Mexican wedding cookies

I like the peanut butter, but I usually thumb print mine and bake with jam or preserves in the middle. I'll happily eat a kisses one if they're around though.

My favorite.

I used to make snickerdoodles as a kid but never for Christmas. Christmas cookies to me are plain sugar cookies cut into Christmassy shapes, sprinkled with colored sugar.

My family made pralines (pronounced like "Pauline's," never "pray-leans") for Christmas. There was a homemade fruitcake recipe too, but I was never a fan.

my favorite is the peanut butter thumbprint with the hershey's kiss in the middle.

Aniseseed balls. I love the things.

I remember the first time my mother made them She figured the recipe wasn't enough so she doubled it. She figured wrong. We spent the better part of a day rolling them up and baking them. Still had a tin of them in Mar. and by then they could be used as lethal projectiles. I swear they were what David slew Goliath with.

My grandma did something similar but with a dollop of homemade jam in the thumbprint.

We go old-school. Sugar cookies that don't taste like a goddamn thing, but you put frosting and sprinkles and shit on them.

Also gingerbred. Not the houses just the cookies.

I've given up treats like cookies and candy and all that but I used to love all the Christmas cookies and stuff. Peanut butter cookies, buckeyes, gingerbread cookies were always my favorite.

Chocolate chip cookie edibles. Needless to say it's a pretty chill Xmess around my place. Serving suggestion: Serve with a nice 12 year old scotch, neat.

That made me laugh, because I remember eating those things as a kid and thinking, "did something just happen or was I only imagining it?" LOL!:D
