I really struggle to gasp the logic of those who oppose voter id, and I'm honestly not trolling.
Voter fraud IS a potential problem, the way things are going now in America.

The only block that I would see is cost.

A passport application (140$) IS indeed dire for the poor who have kids, or the elderly. The grocery bill for a week.
I'm curious: how much do other forms of ID cost?

A Passport is optional and most people can go their full lifetime without ever needing one since most people never travel international. I've never had one and I used to go to Canada fairly often before the Government insanity changed the rules. I'll never go to Canada again though. I even did the tourist walk across the border to Nogales MX once as a kid. Won't never do that no more neither. I don't anticipate ever being within 100 miles of the border again.

Driver's Licenses are optional too. Many adults have never had one. Mine has been costing about $10-20 over my lifetime. But I think I saw it will go to $40 once the Government mandated insanity takes effect.

Last time I got my license renewed it was right at $50. But it's also a passport now, apparently. So it's supposed to be a cheaper bundle, but my ass ain't got travel the globe money. I wouldn't have bought an EXTRA passport so I think it's just a money game.

But getting your first one is gonna run you about $300 and piss you right off. I already posted about this but the fucking kit is a goddamn money game. You ought not have to get THREE DIFFERENT FUCKING LICENSES. I get the permit then the license but this shit is ridiculous. Also, it assumes you have a licensed adult who will vouch for you. If you're on your own idk what the fuck you're supposed to do.

It's a goddamn money game, and it pisses me right off. Like even without the voter thing the price to get a license and how time consuming it is now, pisses me right the fuck off. I go off about it every chance I get. They're bleeding these fucking kids dry.

Kids make $7 an hour and work 20 hours a week. That's all the money they're gonna have. The licenses are expensive. Graduation is expensive. Senior dues are a thing now- weren't a thing when I was a kid. Fucking PROM tickets were $100 each, and you gotta buy two of them so you can take a girl. Senior trip was a couple thousand dollars so he didn't even go.

We're bleeding these kids fucking dry over BULLSHIT. Idk why we, as a society decided to just shit on teenagers, but we need to quit it. I hate to think what it's gonna be when Bitesize gets there.

What form of ID would satisfy you? A driver's license? Non-citizens have those, so that won't work. Maybe the government needs a data base of every citizens' DNA and you should have to submit a sample before voting? You big-government, gotta control the Proles types would love that.

I was just thinking about that too.
One can't even rent without an ID. Privately or state-owned, they need that sort of assurance.
