Kanye just fired off a series of tweets apparently distancing himself from politics. He said, "My eyes are now wide open and now realize I've been used to spread messages I don't believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative."

Kanye all but says the culprit is ultra-conservative Candace Owens. He said, "I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn't want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it."

Owens had said, "Blexit [black exit from Democratic Party] is a renaissance and I'm blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero -- Kanye West."

Funny how mainstream media will never utter the names Candace Owens or Brandon Tatum, two black people who are really leading the black #walkaway movement.

Candace Owens is a breath of fresh air. I think she's going to be a great future black leader.

I've seen and read some of Owen's stuff. OK, she's a young, cute, black, female that leaned conservative. There was nothing that she said or wrote in the short clips/articles that came across as new material.

What she is, is enthusiastic about holding her own in a world that rewards leaders.

Sadly, I don't think she'll ever run for elected office. She has the charisma and she's smart. Smart enough to both be good at it and smart enough to know she's better off not doing it.

I do think she's a bit too right of center at present, but she's nowhere near Michelle Malkin who has no hope of ever being anything but rabid far right and completely melts down at anything even hinting otherwise.

Owens also needs some time to become a better orator. She needs to learn how to shorten her message, and increase the appeal, without losing the content.

I agree but she's till young and she doesn't necessarily have to run for office to be an effective leader in the black community.

She doesn't have the brass-ball chutzpah of Sharpton. And she can't rally like King because she doesn't use faith and color as her tag line. Unless she goes into political office, within a few years she'll be marginalized as someone to use to "organize" something small for votes.

That doesn't seem to be what she's about. But, unless she runs for office, that's her most likely future. And it's a shame if it happens.
