8 Dead, Several Others Shot At Pittsburgh Synagogue

Wtf did they have in common with them? They didn't even know them.
They're just as self-serving as Trump making sure he's seen visiting the synagogue, and almost as irritating as those who pontificate on the tragedy to promote their ilegal immigration agenda.

The only meaningful gestures were by those who signed petitions asking Trump to take a stand against White supremacy groups and for gun control.

Shaddup, goat fucker.

What do you know about it? Nothing.

Maybe what they have in common is a frustration with an ill-equipped, bumbling despot who encourages violence and cares more about sound bites at rallies, and appealing to the willfully ignorant, and those who unconditionally accept a habitual liar and piss-poor excuse for a president.
Maybe they share a common goal of putting an end to senseless violence in their community, a community they also have in common.

You really can’t be that dumb to think that religion is the only common ground people in a community can have, can you?

Perhaps type ‘things people can have in common’ in your ol’ reliable Google, before replying and attempting to appear relevant.

Just look at how most everyone here, regardless of gender, age, god, or creed find you a tedious, ignorant attention whore. We have that in common.

They live and work in the Pittsburgh area. They play for the Steelers professional football club who are beloved by the city and fans of Pittsburgh. The players and organization do community work throughout the year.

So, no. They aren't self-serving. They're serving their community as they always have done for decades.

You might be right on that.

One sees such things in institutions when some employee dies. All the bosses who mistreated or bullied him suddenly feign care and show up at his funeral and emote, making sure that they're seen.
And too often politicians use such situations for impression management.

I guess I'm prejudiced and suspicious of such public displays in these situations, because of that.

Wut?

See note, in post above, about relevance.

Christ on a cracker, you are one stupid motherfucker.

An NFL team worth hundreds of millions of dollars and is beloved in the city are certainly in it for a self-serving purpose, you gottdamn moron.

How dare you shit on a group of people supporting their mourning community. I hope the goats rape you tonight.

Luke and the anti-semitic trolls and stalkers, virtue signaling and trying to politicise a Jewish slaying never gets old.

I was actually triggered by who wrote it (Luk) and how he put it: a post in which he praised that group, followed by Trump bashing for the same behavior.

Believe me, this slaying was a complete eye opener for me too. If I was trying to rationalize before any of Trump's inflammatory past rhetoric, now - no longer.

I just find it annoying seeing some posters who displayed anti-semitic attitudes in the past, or the stalkers and trolls now do this entire "I have the feels" circus and virtue signalling.
Had the comment been made by yourself or other GB liberals, I wouldn't have jumped the gun.

A two second google search would have shown you that the sister of the two brothers who were killed used to be the Steeler's community relations director. Beyond that, it was in Mike Tomlin's neighborhood and sports teams do this in their communities.

Only a Busybody loving sycophant like you would like egg on their face, d00d.

Pittsburgh is an unusual place. It is the type of town where people might move away for college and to start a career, but they come home again when they can, even if it's only when they retire. Even if you are not born there, it grows on you.
They are pretty accepting of outsiders, different religions, strange philosophies of life.
They are the people who put some strange puppet guy with a dream to change TV for children on their public television station for decades.
Maybe it's the hills, maybe it's the water, maybe because it floods and there are landslides, maybe because it's a city who rebuilt itself when the steel mills were gone, gulf oil moved out and the mines all closed, who knows?
When I lived there, it wasn't unusual to see pro athletes out and about helping out sometimes. People just let them be, sort of like Minnesota did with Prince.
In Minnesota, I rarely see any pro athletes outside of my ortho's office or sport medicine places.

Aww, so quick to villify someone for an honest and stupid mistake that they tried to appologise for.

Aww, so triggered because that person dared to point out the anti-semitism that she noticed on the GB.
You think one type of racism is more excusable than the other?

In other words:

Dudes. The shooting didn't happen just because of Trump and the Alt-Right.

It happened because of the Left too.

Trump has stoked the flames of hatred for decades. His alligator tears for victims along his path are as phony as he is.

I agree with you on that.
Even tho the far left put logs on the fire too with their -clear- anti-semitism,
The blame lies overwhelmingly with Trump and the far right. That's the person who pulled the trigger.

My point is: not all of those who wanted Trump, who oppose illegal immigrants or still gravitate towards Republicans are racists.

Many Americans who wanted him did it because they chose "the least of two Evils."
Outsiders - the belief that if not for Trump's election that embolded them, the entire Europe would have turned into a globalist state with an impossible to challenge one world government.
As bad as Trump seems to be for America, he worked much better than Clinton for the rest of us.

Since Trump, Brexit and the rise of the far right in Europe and elsewhere, racism, misogyny, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, xenophobia, homophobia and general bigotry is flourishing.

The debating climate has become aggressive and violent. Three years ago, the sandbox antics (like what you find here on the GB) was almost unseen on Twitter and Facebook. Today I read exactly the same hateful rhetoric on all social media.
This change runs parallel with the rise of the far right. A coincidence?

I think that there are two very different Europes:
North-Western Europe and South-Eastern Europe.
Two entirely different groups of people, two completely different histories.

Most people like me have so much mixed blood in us, we're not even seen as "real Whites". Plus our countries' territorial integrities have been perpetually challenged by Imperialistic Russia, Communists, Ottomans, neo-Ottomanism, Western geopolitical chop and change interests and so on.
I believe you when you say that nationalists are wrecking havoc in the UK and Anglo-Saxon Europe, you know better and I also read some very disturbing things online.
But you can't extrapolate that to an almost entirely different culture.

Amd btw, I'm not trying to be partisan, nor am I saying these to troll you. I only troll dumbfucks like DMBFF, Rob et al.
I just think that it's an interesting topic. And I Am open to having my opinion challenged or altered.

There's likely parks named Union Square in most cities, but this was in NYC.

There's Steelers fans here, though. The bar I frequent even has a Terrible Towel hanging up. :D

I actually missed the big headline that said Union Square. Ok, I'll be honest and say I missed the entire story and only looked at the pics. There may be a union square there, I don't know. I do know that a NYC bar that hangs a Terrible Towel is a somewhat questionable establishment. I mean I know the Jets and Giants suck but stay true.

You're a lying sack of goat shit. I didn't bash 45 for "the same behavior". You've gone from ignorant and annoying to ignorant and being a fucking cunt.

Can't have violent crimes without victims, am I right?

You will have some who do it out of a feeling of obligation more than a real desire to help. But with all the community outreach over the years by the Steelers professional football club, i dont doubt their sincerity in reaching out to those affected by this tragedy. They're part of the community. It's the same community they live and work in. Players, management, and owners, as well as their family members and friends, could well have been present when the shooting occurred. This is true of any business in the Pittsburg area. It's no different than the responses that happened during prior mass murders - New York City citizens, businesses, and professional sports clubs as a great example during the 9/11 terrorist attack.

And yes, some of us adore Busybody.
Yet we think that some of the racist stuff that he's doing is ugly and crazy as fuck. We asked him to stop, several times. We never encourage them.

Other guys too like, talk and laugh with Bobs or another poster who harassed a couple of foreigners.
Does that mean that we consider those guys to be racist pieces of shit and amoral subhumans too? Like people like you view us?

Of course not. Because they never encouraged Their ugly racist or xenophobic behaviors either.

Ain't cute seeing how selectively righteous and outraged 'humane human beings' like you are.
