I usually roam on the periphery of his/her interests and ask and answer about what we do for living, where we are from etc. It would then depend on what they answer as it would lead to next what I ask or answer. If we are talking about filling silence for one hour approximately I can make do with something that is neither too personal nor too generic.

What is your favorite activity when you are supposed to be waiting in really long queues. Be it any where, how do you kill the waiting time?

I used to shop for coats more but 4 is enough. I began looking for skirts and some dresses. I have a small waist. Just because I'm fluffy doesn't mean I want to dress like a tank or in a dress of armor.

The first thing that comes to my mind, is that I have a knack for eye-eye contact and can knock up a small piece of poetry about that person's facial features. While having a conversation I look nowhere except in that person's eyes and as much deep as possible.
Or I can zone off in like few seconds and fake attention or pay full attention but fake disinterest.
