No, not really. If you want to get technical, the drive was actually through parts of four contiguous neighborhoods. Yes, elections for State senator are generally conducted state-wide, right? It's going to be an interesting election.

I live in the heart of Cruz country in Houston, about 10 miles away from Cruz's condo. I remember the last election, everyone talked about it, because the choice for Republicans was an older conservative Republican and Cruz, who always thought of himself first. Conventional thinking was Rafael was younger so he could lock up the seat for 2-3 elections.

Last election cycle there were quite a few Cruz yards signs...I've yet to see one in my ultra-conservative neighborhood. Having said that, I've only seen one Beto sign.

Cruz's mentally ill wife has had more publicity that he has lately. She met Cruz when she was a high-powered Washington DC lawyer and he was a Reagan toady. She was horrified at leaving her beloved Washington for that backwater, Houston when Cruz got the statewide office bug. Got hooked on pills and was found by the cops pulled over on an interstate ramp, crying and gibbering incoherently. Glad she was white, they might have tased her otherwise.

Texas has done an exemplary job blocking access to the polls for #ThosePeople (blacks and Hispanic speakers) or this race would be much closer.

I think Cruz will win 53-47.

The gig economy has been berry berry good to the little poofter. He's been able to get a piecework job delivering packages, I think for Amazon. He wanted to drive for Uber, but they require a four door car, which he has, but only three doors work (the other door is held shut with a wire hangar).

Nevertheless, our boy stands head and shoulders above his layabout RWCJ brethren (quite an accomplishment, given his dimunitive 5'9" frame). He actually makes money from gainful employment, which his peer group (NotIshmael, NotAJ, NotVetteman and the flathead) cannot claim. Granted, it's a long strange journey from his previous career as a housing appraisal clerk, but hai, it's something.

He says he won't criticize Cruz (he can't find anything to criticize).

He supports legalizing marijuana and stopping the war on drugs. A big help to the cartels.

He supports more gun control.

He's going to offer a bill that would require all young people to serve the government for a year.

In 1995 he was arrested on burglary charges as well as DUI, but wasn't convicted.

He promoted the criminal Hillary Clinton for President.

He wants "easier immigration" which means he's against enforcing the law as it stands.

Hard to believe he's going to sell all of that Democrat BS to the citizens of state of Texas.
