Suggestions for Alternatives to Yahoo Messenger

Since the 17th is the last day of Yahoo's Messenger. are there any suggestions for a replacement messaging system with the same capabilities as Messenger? It would be nice to have the messaging and ability to cross devices and enjoy webcams and transfers

Don't think I ever used that one.

Chatzy and Tiny Chat are both free. I think Chatzy is text only but Tiny Chat allows videos and cams. You just have to configure your room correctly.

I just changed over to skype and so far i like it.

you can still chat, trade pics, even cam if you want to (camming is too much for me though).

it runs in the background so when someone you chat with logs on it gives you a notice.

Google hangouts works best for me!

google hangouts and skype are the best. you can even just use the web version of skype if you don't want to install anything
