That was a good meal
Time to return to Lit and stalk the playground![]()
Did I hear stalk?
My sunscreen game needs work. The effort is there, but I’ll routinely miss a patch or two. Consistency is what separates the amateurs from the pros.
I believe you did
I do that a lot here.. lol
Is that bad?![]()
No, I think most people stalk. I do. I'll read a post and want to comment, so I look around for the like button. Finding no button, I start typing, only to forget that intelligent comment and move on.
I'm sure they do as well.. even if it's only for a few minutes
I know it's been said to death but.. we need a like button here lol
I wonder if Facebook has it patented?
We definitely share that in common![]()
Some Author has trademarked a word and now writers have to change their titles. I don't see how that can apply to books already in print, but I didn't care enough to read the entire article. I have a gaggle of authors on my friend's list on FB. One made a comment that she's a C- writer and that's how she plans to make money. If this whole thing is true, I can see it going to the supreme court. "Your honor my witness, Aldous Huxley was not able to testify today. In his place I call Elizabeth Craig."
"Sidebar."
What word? Lol
It shouldn't apply to books already in print.. like you mentioned.. the dead can't rewrite their own works
I wonder what words are trademarked and which ones aren't.. and who decides that? A judge?
I know who Aldous Huxley is, I don't know who the latter is though![]()
Elizabeth Craig is a writer. I know her as cozy mystery author though she might write other genres. Yesterday I mentioned that I'd just finished "Rest in Pieces" and how I wanted kill one elderly character, Miss Sissy. She told me that she killed her in the first book in the series, but her editor talked her into bringing her back to life. I haven't read the first in the series yet.
Oh ok
I'm not much of a reader other than political books and various books/articles online.. I need to read more than I do but very few books can hold my attention. I probably have some sort of attention disorder if someone looked into it.
But it is what it is lol
Maybe you should start with short stories. I've always been a voracious reader. In the second grade the librarian in the bookmobile wouldn't let me check out Farmer Boy again. She asked me had I read any of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books and I told her no. She took me to the shelf where they were. Then she came back with a handful of books that were all part of series. By 5th grade my mother gave me permission to get an adult card to check out Agatha Christie books. We had a subscription to a Nancy Drew book club and my mother got reader's digest books for herself, but my sister and I both read them. My stepfather read the newspapers daily and we got both Sunday editions.
I had a weird RL experience tonight that's left me feeling a little off balance and insecure.I'm thinking one step forward, twobstwps back.
If you need someone to talk to about it.. I'm here![]()
