Well, in theory 98%, but most people don't use them right, so it gets jogged down to 85%. Perhaps this is what you meant, but wrote 100% instead. There was one girl in college who wrote a report describing condom use and how statistics skew after repeated usages (not re-using, but how -2% becomes a larger factor in reiteration. Think of it like a revolver in russian roulette. Not exactly the same but you get the idea.)

The most important thing I got from her report, was that condoms are never 100% safe, especially regarding disease.
