Unless you've been here awhile, you won't realise how very sad this comment is. It's becoming clearer that this is someone who has probably depended on this forum for many years as their only source of social interaction.

I made one alt, a covert one, in 2003, which I used for a total of maybe 4 posts. I then had another - TheZenOfSkin - which I announced when I created it. Only did around 100 posts on that one. Those were my only alts. I've had several lengthy sabbaticals from here as well since joining.

In contrast, Ann has probably been here the entire time and never left, with alts well into the double digits. I thought he was just a troll. It's more likely that, in addition to being one, he isn't well.

I've curtailed my attacks accordingly, but I can't really do anything further re: the infatuation & stalking he has / does in regards to me. I will try to ignore from now on.

This really made me laugh ... I'm kind of fond of Coach Binky's ineptitude with statistics. Cops only get a few hours of training during their academy class. And then they only have to requalify 1x per year after that with their in-house range-master on their government paid for range, with government paid for ammo. OH, and they're on duty when they do it, so they GET PAID at the same time.

I can only speak for California, but concealed gun carriers are mandated to have at least 8 hours of actual gun training, and as many as 24 hours of training in some jurisdictions just to get the license/permit. We have to requalify every 2 years with a minimum of 4-12 hours of retraining depending on the jurisdiction.

Currently, here in California renewals require 4 hours of classroom and range qualification. Qualification must be with EVERY gun we carry. Not just 1, ALL of them - up to 5 for my issuing authority. The cost is hundreds of dollars for the class, hundreds of dollars for the range/ammo costs (if you have more than 2 guns you carry) and all of that is paid for by the permit holder. In short, if you have a concealed carry permit, it's EXPENSIVE to get and keep a permit. And you won't keep it if you don't practice your skills in between retraining and qualification because you won't qualify in the performance test at the range. Which adds more cost.

My license costs me around $2.5K/year if I go to the range regularly, amortize the requalification costs and include the additional personal liability insurance. Those are the direct costs. If I included the indirect costs, like loss of work, travel, cleaning supplies, maintenance/repair, etc, the yearly cost probably doubles. For those who want higher skill training there are also gun academies like Frontsight and Gunsight which cost THOUSANDS of dollars to attend. And their classes are always full.

Compared to cops, most of us** are not "rank fucking amateurs". Anyone who thinks we are, has no clue about the subject.
