Just woke up, since I work overnight. I check my email, and I have a few feedbacks to look at- one troll, one personal story request, and a positive Anonymous feedback.

I appreciate positive feedback, but why make it Anonymous? Especially if you tell me your name? How am I supposed to message you back and thank you for your encouraging words if I can't reach you?

Wonk wonk wonk!

One of my chapters is rated 4.89, and it should be in the EC Hall of Fame, but it ain't, and there are 4.87's in there. How do the HoF's update?

Wonk wonk wonk!

Clearly, I missed my two-hour feed and need a boob shoved in my mouth or something. I'm not actually grumbling, I just woke up and am feeling goofy.

I am sorry that I cannot get back to that person, tho. I do like to reply to people who take the time to message and encourage me.

Jeeeeeeez, the HoF in Novels/Novellas is really hard to break into. Those are some intense scores. Yikes.

Wonk wonk wonk.

Is absinthe a good breakfast food?

*goes to eat something*

No more coffee for you at Tex` ... :D

I`d guess that the HoF requires you to have kept that rating for a particular period, say, two weeks, or perhaps a set number of votes for getting in there.

Sometimes, mysteriously, stories drop in and out of lists. I have a story that was on an all time category top list, but it's disappeared, even though the score hasn't changed. I suspect it will appear again.

Ghosted by my own stories...

I guess that means they're women. I have the worst luck... :/

I'm not sure the top lists update even on a daily basis. I had a chapter at the top of the 12-month top list in I/T for months. It got voted off the top a couple weeks ago, but I think it took at least two days for the change to show up in the top list.

You need at least 100 votes to qualify for the all-time top list. Your highest scoring chapter in EC that I could find was on the 12-month top list with 88 votes.

I'm curious; how or where does one view the 12-month top lists?

Does your EC story have the required 100 votes to make the all time HOF list there?

The top lists, like many things here, are broken for long stretches so hard to tell if its not updating or can't be updated. Obsessing over them is a waste of your time

Thanks LC; I was just surprised to find out there actually was such a list

Wonk wonk wonk!

My occasional comments upon a story are Very Seldom anything but Anon.
I do not consider myself sufficiently skilled in criticism to offer anything other than the obviious "I loved it" comment.

"Wonk" was [is?] the name of a little bear from the stories of my childhood.
And that was before 1950. See here: https://www.abebooks.co.uk/book-search/title/adventures-of-wonk/author/muriel-levy/

From the main index page, select 'Top Lists,' then select a category. The list opens to the all-time top list (the beginning of which makes the Hall of Fame for the category). At the top right of the list you can select the 30-day list, the 12-month list, or the all-time list.

Thanks for this, I went and took a look at the top lists; believe it or not, it's the first time I ever looked at it closely enough to spot there were other lists in there. I really should pay more attention...

We seem to get lots of anonymous positive feedback with a name signed. It might be coming from the Lit App. Many of the names are not actual Lit users, but they are often consistent as the go through our list of stories.

I've gotten anonymous feedback. In one case, I know who the person is. I know him from another site. I think he just didn't want to become a member here.

Perhaps (at least some of) the anon feedback is just people who know where in the site they can find the stories they like and don’t see a need to create an account just to post a comment?

What sort of list? I never knew there was such thing as a list.
A list of what?
I won't ever be on any list, my stories just don't seem to get much interest. They don't don't seem to be good, or bad, they just seem to exist!

But how do I see these lists?

I`m currently on 77 votes for my first chapter, dropping off 20 for the second and gradually losing 10 for each chapter. Granted, the later ones were posted later, so they should have less votes. Unfortunately, the first chapter is also the lowest rated one, as people read it, vote for it and then discard it because it probably isn`t their cup of tea. Still, it`s still a lot of votes, lots more than I had expected to get!
They also have much higher ratings than I expected to get ... but far from getting in any kind of top list. Clearly BiscuitHammer does a much better job :D

Well, thank you for the kind words, but I just write what I like. I have some stories I've considered publishing, but I'm certain the reaction to them would be all over the place. People would be stunned or shrieking.

I oughta find someone to look at the story, see what they think.
