Ah, yes, right-wing stories about no-go zones in Europe. Like in London, and Birmingham, and Holland, and now Paris.

Taxi drivers avoiding certain areas at night is pure economics, not fear. It's so well-known that it's cliched to say that London taxi drivers won't go south of the river. Hint - it's not because of the evil Muslim hordes in Wimbledon and Putney.

Massively and obviously right wing, yes! Ann Coulter articles, an interview with the leader of the EDL, stories about child marriages with refugees and Africans being full of untreatable diseases...

I misread about taxi drivers, though the same rules apply - people want to get home quickly. It's wrong, but it's incredibly common.

Like many tourist destinations anywhere in the world parts of Paris are chosen by pickpockets and distraction thieves. All you need to do is be aware of the possibility that pickpockets will be around where tourists are frequent.

That includes some Metro and RER stations close to tourist hot spots.

No go areas? No. Places where you should watch your belongings? Yes.
