How Many Days Until Spring

We had a similar thread to this 5 or 6 years ago when we were having one of the most brutal winters in memory. That was the winter I learned the words "Polar Vortex."

This winter is trying to emulate that one, so to strike a blow against Old Man Winter, we can count down the days until Spring arrives.

I'm using a website for a reference point, so if you quarrel with my number, plus or minus, that's fine. It's the spirit of the countdown that matters.

Please feel free to use this thread to gripe about winter, yearn for the spring and warmer weather.....whatever strikes your fancy.

Starting us off, January 5, 2018.........

74 Days until Spring!

Thank you AF.

And despite the fact that the nasty Snow Bastard appears to be north of the US border, I'm sure you will agree with me that this is NOT a negative representation of our Canadian Friends.

:)

How politically correct of you, LIG. :D

74? We can do this! It may require days remaining under the covers, snuggling. But we'll make it.

Thank you BB!

I'm glad to see you joining our little winter huddling. I remember your contributions to this thread the last time around and I'm looking forward to you helping us keeping it going.

I'm especially glad a lady has posted. I was afraid my new thread was going to be something like "Would you do a 3some with the two people above?"

Nine guys say "No," One woman says "Yes," Nine guys say "No" One woman says "Yes." And on and on.

:)

Oh, but it totally was :D

Those (extremely polite) bastards love sending their cold air and lake effect snow down here ;)

I feel for all of you! I mean it's cold here (28 this morning) but nothing like you East Coast/Midwest peeps are getting. (And our snow prediction for tomorrow just changed to rain...which actually hurts the economy here).

Sending warm thoughts and hugs to all my freezing friends!

Our schools opened up after break on Wednesday, then closed for Thurs/Fri on account of snow and cold. Brrrr . . . .

Here too.

I was off Monday and Tuesday for the holiday, worked Wednesday, was off yesterday because of the snow. I was driving to work today, my boss called telling me go home. A water main pipe burst, so everything is frozen around our office.

Spring can't get here fast enough.

Whoa . . . sounds like some beach time is needed :)

Today's high will be 20°. At least it's double digits.

Things are so bad here with schools (and the overall decrepit condition of our city) that there's actually a "GoFundMe" page to raise money to buy space heaters for public school classrooms.

In all the news reports I heard, NO ONE asked why the heat isn't working in the school buildings.

Ladies, good morning and thank you for joining our thread :)

Yep. And when it gets back up into the upper 30's and 40's it's going to feel deceptively better. But's still cold nonetheless. For all of the aggravation our semi-tropical humid summers can be in the SE the dry frigid air of a harsh winter's worse.

So proper hydrations critical...drink more of your adult beverages of choice... ;)

To hell with this winter
I'm skipping winter in 4 days, passing Go & going directly to ....summer :D

I am glad I left Michigan before LAST winter!

It's beautiful and warm where I live... any one want to visit? I'll set up a B&B :rose:
