I'm thinking it's Navajo it's a marked piece but I can't make out the mark. somebody could probably dated from the spring loaded clasp on the back. my mom thinks he would have bought it in the 1940s probably

I'm wondering if it's yellow jasper.

Is it translucent at all? If it is, it may well be amber or perhaps even a jade. I'd really like to a bigger picture of it.
