Thanks Dad, for ending this year with a heart attack. Of course I want to fly home while it’s -30.

Dammit, old man.

I’d do anything for the old man, he’s my person. I’m just angry that he must have his symptoms for years. He’s a young old man, and he actually eats really well. But he smokes. Anyway, thank you kind people.

So I thought pressure cooker chili in 30 minutes would be crap.

I was very wrong.

I think that's my next purchase. The *real* one is the most highly reviewed product in Amazon's history or some shit.

Awww darlin', I'm sorry.

I hope he makes a full recovery and this scares him into quitting.

Best wishes to the old man, to you, and your family. It's natural to be angry, and even more frustrating and scary to feel the power of things outside of our control.

So on a scale of 1 (oh my god have you seen the people of walmart site) to 10 (eh, it's not that bad and I'll be wearing a bra for heaven's sake), how bad is it to go to the grocery store in my jammy bottoms? They're even a cute and tasteful lilac paisley pattern...

:cattail:

A semi-related note to Wing's scare with her Father. I opened a Christmas Card last night from a college friend, who had been the girlfriend of my best friend. My best friend died in a car accident in late 1992. Enclosed in the card was a hand-written letter I wrote to him six months before he died, upon his moving for a job.

I didn't expect to share this personal of a story here, but I was moved by receiving this letter, and reminded of the significance by Wings' post. In the letter, I told him how important our friendship was, how proud I was for his promotion, applauded his bravery for moving to a new city, and essentially shared everying I appreciated about him.

I had forgotten all about this letter, but it is really something to know I told him these things before losing him and at a time when we had no expectation his life would be cut short.

In short - tell the folks you love what you want them to know - it can all change in an instant - for no reason whatsover.

One of my favorite cousins died of a heart attack this weekend, the day before his 48th birthday. This year has sucked ass.

It's a right of passage. Slippers instead of shoes are bonus points.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Wishing you and yours peace and strength. :rose:

Pajama bottoms ... leggings ... pretty much the same thing. At least, that's the impression I got the first time I saw someone wearing leggings to work.

I'll likely die before long.

An instant pot will not be involved.

Unless it cracks my skull or broils my brain..

Even then, I might not notice.

Life is funny, hey?
