I’ve done beautiful brown rice in 10 minutes, perfect soft boiled eggs (for toasty soldiers) in 3 1/2 minutes.

My Sea Island Red Peas with salt pork came out perfect and flavourful, and it did a great job with breakfast’s steel cut oats.

My wife has baked a wee cake in it, and made Sesame Chicken that the kids could not get enough of.

The 3 quart is a little too small. Pick yourself up a 6 or 8 quart and have some delicious fun.
 
Bacon fixes all kinds of things really.


Poor Kitty Girl... she went exploring and found a paper shopping bag. The kind with handles. She got her head caught in one of the handles and it scared her as the bag "chased" her from the hallway to the living room, and back again. Finally she went into one of her play tubes and I was able to "trap" her and unhook her from it. I just now got her out from under the bed. Poor darlin', she was really scared. But I have to admit on my end it was very funny. :D

Cold hearted killing and expensive, clawed to death furniture. Kitty Girl resembles that remark. Well maybe not the expensive furniture, but moderately priced. Close enough. :D

And the red tourmaline is finally finished. Took me six hours today stringing this up. Would have been four if I hadn't had to restring it because of an error. But it turned out to be a happy accident as I made an alteration that I believe improved the final look.

It looks red when it's on but the blue light of the flash light makes the pinks come out.

These are the last until the next bead show in May. And that's probably just as well. :cool:

Awww thank you Twinks. :eek: I think the beads and gold do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to how they look. When one starts with pretty things, it's hard to not end up with pretty things.

It can be expensive. Just depending. But then I also don't do things like go out to eat or buy coffee drinks or things like that. The tourmaline necklace was about $90 to make, the tanzanite was about $80. I buy the beads at the bead shows where they are 50-60% off bead shop price. They have all sorts of pretty beads there to work with that aren't semi-precious. (I don't like to buy the beads off the internet because I like to see exactly what I am getting.) Some of the crystal beads are very nice, and the silver is more economical than gold. You may want to look around - you might be pleasantly surprised.

Still cannot afford it. I just try to make the most of what I have access to.
