Yes the constitution that you and many others took an oath to protect and defend demonstrates my correctness. Note the constitution doesn't have a little asterisk that says the role you play in the society entitles you to a greater say, a more important opinion or anything of the like. Nor does it have a caveat that someone exercising their rights needs the approval of anyone else.

Oddly enough it astounds me just how many people don't quite get that.

I find it more than slightly ironic that throughout the first half of the 20th century, even social liberals seemed to tolerate a "separate but equal" racial policy among the federal and state governments. And I choose to show respect for the flag during the National Anthem as an expression of my OPTIMISM for our ability to solve our MANY problems, of which racism is only one, under the system of government the founders gave us. Our will to do so is certainly in question, but that has nothing to do with the flag or the anthem.
