I'm white... I'd be borderline roster at best.

Do I believe in why they are taking a knee, yes, but I've got mouths to feed.

It's non violent protest and exercising of free speech and communicates something is deeply wrong with this country that needs attention.

Would you take a knee?

I probably would take one knee replacement. Mine pops and hurts sometimes.

If it's good enough for Jon Snow, it's good enough for me.

No. Why? I served and I respect our nations colors.

But if you want to take a knee go ahead, just remember I fought for your freedom to do just that. Of course I will beat the snot out of you for doing so.

I would not. There are a variety of reasons.

First, I am a veteran, so the flag and the national anthem hold a meaning for me, and I would not disrespect the people for whom it holds a similar meaning.

Second, as it currently exists, they're getting a lot of attention for their action - but not much is being said about specifically what they're attempting to accomplish. The most effective protests are those tied to a specific cause/effect, with a specific outcome. Protests in which the purpose is protest are less effective.

What is this in reference to? Proposing? Surrendering to a Targaryn? Being knighted? Not standing for the national anthem? Inquiring minds want to know.

I thought this was going to be some skyrim arrow to the knee meme.

Steelers players stay in locker room during anthem

All of the Pittsburgh Steelers players stayed in the locker room during the national anthem prior to Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.

Only the Steelers coaches, including head coach Mike Tomlin and offensive coordinator Todd Haley, were on the field during the national anthem, but none of the players were. Steelers offensive tackle Alejandro Villanueva, an Army Ranger who served in Afghanistan, stood just outside of the tunnel entrance to the field, not on the sidelines during the anthem.

Singer Rico Lavelle took a knee after singing the national anthem at Sunday's Detroit Lions game.

Photos and video posted to Twitter show Lavelle kneeling on the field after singing the anthem.

Lions players, as well as players on the opposing team Atlanta Falcons, can be seen kneeling and linking arms during the anthem.

Dozens of players, coaches and team officials across the NFL have joined in kneeling during the anthem Sunday after President Trump on Friday attacked players who do not stand during the anthem.

absolutely yes

because of what it stands (or kneels) for, and (were i an american citizen) exercising my responsibility to hold the US to its highest standards

as things stand, linking arms shows the recognised symbol of solidarity. i'm right on board.

I'm not at all surprised by the folks that don't get what it's about. You don''t understand, because you simply don't want to.

Then I don't know if you really understand what you were fighting for.

Yes I would take a knee.

Agree. :rose::heart::rose:

With all due respect to veterans and there is much respect there on my part whether you believe me or not, sometimes you need to fight our country's enemies from within.

Whether it's the alt right which has literally become Nazi evil or the radical left which are the bullied wanting their chance to be the bullies, both are bad. The alt right are far, far, FAR worse, but both sides advocate taking this country places where I, personally, don't want it to go.

Taking a knee is a peaceful action and brings to attention without violence there's something we need to fix.

Those taking a knee, they could be out punching Nazis or people who just say things they don't like, punch them and call them a Nazi. But they are doing this instead.

Is it disrespectful to take a stand (by taking a knee) to peacefully advocate for what this country has and always has had the potential to be, what all the honorable veterans fought for, or is it disrespectful to the veterans and what they fought for to be apathetic while those ideals are twisted and pushed further away?

Yes. While I'm proud of my country, I recognize that it is not perfect and that our record on racial equality is not particularly respectable. If kneeling during the national anthem is a way of reminding all of us that our country needs to do better, then I am on my knee.

yes, i would. i respect america enough to call her out on her bullshit. i also believe in the right to peaceful protest, and fully support those who choose to do so. to those who claim superiority and threaten violence, you are the true insult to the anthem and the flag.

It's kinda lonely standing out here on the field...LOL...but that's okay. Been there before and will most likely be there again.

At heart, I am very much a pragmatist. To me, a far more effective form of civil action would be for the players to dedicate their salary for a game, or a portion of their salary for the duration of the season, and donate it to a cause that was attempting to actually make a difference in their world.

Protest without daily action is merely a form of intellectual masturbation. All the slogans and kneeling don't move a single shovel full of dirt.

Collectively, they could dedicate millions of dollars, which would translate to concrete and significant impact on any given cause.

It's a little too much virtue signaling and not enough virtue.

*Understanding of course that there are many NFL players who are actively involved in making a difference in their community and deserve total respect for that.

He shows more vitriol towards NFL athletes for refusing to stand for a damn song, than a white supremacist terrorist who ran over protesters.it was like pulling teeth to get him to denounce his white trash supremacist supporters but he has no problem calling protesters a disrespectful name.

Priorities.

He isnt senile, he is evil.

So sad that better people have died younger of cancer.

...Do I believe in why they are taking a knee, yes...

What exactly is it? Hate for "white devils"? Surely you can't believe that the police go around randomly dragging black guys off the street and shooting them for fun, which seems to be "the reason."

The entire thing is based in a ridiculous, absurd lie in the first place. If anything blacks are privileged in the US today.

Can you name a single fucking way blacks are "victimized" because of so-called "racism" in 21st century America that is REAL, not just made up or distorted?

There has not been a single discriminatory law against blacks for over 50 years. Three entire generations have been born. If they haven't taken advantage of their opportunities, that's not society's fault.

Whites are the ones who suffer affirmative action, political correct dumbversity propaganda to make them feel bad about themselves, and in fact arguably an entire organized campaign to demographically eliminate them. Harvard University has classes about how to "abolish" the white race. I don't see any classes on how to "abolish" the black race.
