Yeah the term most appropriate for the democrats these days would fall under Communist/Marxist/Globalists

The majority of true liberals are either independent or lean moderate republican. I'm sre many democrats are true liberals but the party leaders are fing insane.

I'm independent also, GOP leadership are a bunch of liars as well

Think earlier in the rise of Hitler. The loose grouping that is called antifa comes with hefty doses of Marxist thought. So it's more the early Nazi vs Communist street fighting phase than Third Reich.

Of course most of both parties support neither sides aims; violent street thugs are still violent street thugs regardless of how they choose to wrap their anti-social behavior in supposed justification.
