Numi's boudoir

Hey, papadoc!

Haven't been around much this week, house guests, then visiting family, then cricket, I haven't had a moment!

How's your weekend going?

So far so good...being very lazy...lounging around the house watching football/soccer. :)

Cricket you say? Was there any streaking? ;)

*A very big smile creeps across my face* I might have once or twice before.

I'm certain we're well equipped for the job! *Flexes my biceps* Go ahead, feel them.

(I never seem to be online when that thread is, ahem, 'active', but I catch up later ;) Lovely performances all round :))

We're just waiting for the weather then... :(

IRL, I am doing exactly that. Suitable picnic snacks are in the cupboard/freezer, the rug is located and any thistles and burrs removed, I've picked out my floaty dress... I will be so disappointed if no opportunity arises :(

 They were good.
Hope your day is going well. ;)

Good dreams are always welcome, I'm glad to hear it, Azul.

Do you ever dream about people or pets who have passed away? That can be lovely, a chance to see them again. Tough when you wake, though...

No streaking this time. I was there again yesterday, and there were a bunch of blokes round the other side of the stadium all dressed as butchers, with a single guy dressed as a pig! They chased him around a little bit for the entertainment of the crowd.

There was also an absolutely enormous beer snake. A cricket match is an all day thing, and there can be much beer is consumed. They collect all the plastic pint glasses, and put them all together in the longest snake they can make. Yesterday's must have been thirty metres long!

Enjoy the picnic!

Oh, I hope to!

It needs to be considerably warmer though, if I'm to be able to strip off and cavort filthily in the bracken. I want to be able to feel the sun caressing my naked skin, not shuddering at the appearance of my gooseflesh

I never had pets for the longest time. I had different animals when I was a kid. Then during my teenage years, my dad never allowed them because our family couldn't handle them. Then during adult hood and up to this past June, we didn't have any due to costs. This past June, we acquired two kittens that now run the place. ;)

All of this naughty picnicking talk is decidedly Lit- appropriate. I approve and endorse all such endeavors. :D
The entire dreamscape thing can be amazing and yes, I’ve dreamt of departed pets and family members. :) I’ve also encountered some physic medium hobbyist or whatever you’d term them. I’m not much for that kind of thing but some eerily disturbing things have happened which led me to tell them not to do that stuff around me.

Kittens! I love kittens  You are their service team, Azul, make no mistake ;)

My house is cat-free currently for the first time in many, many years, after losing our elderly cat earlier this year. It's a deliberate hiatus, as we have some long trips away planned in the next couple of years, months rather than days/weeks, and it wouldn't have been fair to leave pets for that long.

I do miss having animals around, I must say. Although a cat landing on the bed during sexy times and staring meaningfully at you is quite disconcerting :D

A woman, who worked for me, passed away a few weeks ago. I went to her funeral two weeks ago, and, then that night, I dreamed I was talking to her in the office like any other day. I'm sure it was just me remembering her, but I still woke up feeling a bit freaked out.

Hey, Xian! Nice to see your, er, 'spatula' again

It's just so odd, isn't it, how the asleep brain works. It's nice to 'see' someone again like that, especially ages later, but almost feels like they have died all over again when you wake up. :(

A relative of mine was telling me recently how much he regretted not saying 'yes' when a shaman in some remote community offered to tell him his destiny. I'm not much for any of that either, he was quite surprised at my scoffing at the concept of 'telling the future'. I suppose the question is whether someone tellling you what's going to happen (and you believing it) would change your behaviour in any way.

'Lit-appropriate', I like that very much :D I think we should all aspire to be Lit-appropriate in our endeavours wherever possible

*contemplates how household chores might be done in a more Lit-appropriate way*

A few months back, my niece informed me that I need a cat. I have been pet free for over a decade, and while I do miss the pitter patter of fluffy feet, I also like the solitude and quiet I have now.

So, opinion poll time; should I get a cat, yes or no?

I've not had experience with shamans but growing up in the foothills and shadows of Appalachia folk arts and ghost stories are very prevalent here. There are a lot of folks who want to give readings or tell you what your departed parents are doing. The myths and stories are fine, reaching out to the departed is distressing.:(
And yes, we should all be more Lit-appropriate in how we live our lives and embrace our sexualities. :D:rose:

My cat's only just now beginning to be more personable and willing to be petted and occasionally picked up and held. My vet told me that kittens do best when you get them in opposite sex pairs. They tried to get me to take in a male kitten to help my cat socialize better but I've chosen not to do so.
So yes, if you want a kitten then go for it but do think about getting two at the same time.

Yes. Yes! Cats aren't especially noisy, I'd say, and, whilst I also like solitude and quiet, it's even nicer with a small furry companion purring on your lap  On the downside, there will be cat hair everywhere. But fluffy feet, awww... :)

That's great advice, tnman, although I'm not sure why 'opposite sex' pairs. It's very difficult to add a second cat successfully to a home with an established adult cat, so best to go multiple from the start if you're minded that way. I'd also add to try rescue shelters, they've always got cats of all ages they're looking to rehome, including sibling kittens often, I think.

Yes, I like the myths and stories. I really enjoyed the anthropological museum in Vancouver, about the First Nations.

Lit-appropriate household activities:

1) Naked hoovering
2) Sitting on the washing machine during the spin cycle
3) Arranging the fruit in the fruit bowl to look like a cock and balls

That is quite impressive :D

How many pints did you have?

Distressingly few, actually. I was driving on Friday, so none at all then, and just a couple of halves on Sunday. 🍻

England vs West Indies. Fantastic match, a full five days, could still have gone either way until mid-afternoon on the fifth day  The Windies won, well-deserved victory.

When there's an international match on, there's commentary on the radio, very entertaining. But if I am entertaining my man in ... another way :)devil:), it gets switched off. Always switch it back on with a grin to see how many wickets we 'took' ;) :D
