My first car was a 72 Pinto Pony, 200 and it passed safety first try. I miss that rolling bomb sometimes.

Worrying about something that may never happen is like paying interest on money you may never borrow.

My dad bought a '73 Pinto firetrap with the older lower gears and the 2.0 liter engine. The 1.6s were crap, so t'was said. Allah, how I dogged that car, and yet it was tough and quick and rather fun to drive, really. It had a 4-speed. My parents were stick fans. The body finally was rusting out in a big way, so it because one with the earth.

Or several Priuses.

I think that a Prius gets better mileage than mah byke does . . . .

Sadly mine went the same way, I drove the crap out of the Pinto and it kept up, but the body and frame rotted over time.

I have this weekend off and a friend over, rain is on the way so we shall see what the day holds once she is awake. For now I think I will see what leftovers the fridge holds for breakfast.

Dad had the engine rebuilt and was at or over 200K, but the driver's door was about to fall off at any moment.

I think the A-post was rotting out, too, or else I imagine he'd have replaced it.

He replaced the car with a Pontiac Fiero GT - v-6 and 4-speed. The big error on that car was not offering a 5-speed for the big engine.

I think my brother still has that car, maybe . . . .

The daily press is the evil principle of the modern world, and time will only serve to disclose this fact with greater and greater clearness. The capacity of the newspaper for degeneration is sophistically without limit, since it can always sink lower and lower in its choice of readers. At last it will stir up all those dregs of humanity which no state or government can control.

~ Søren Kierkegaard

If only the poor thing could have foreseen the retched excesses of 24-hour telly news, the crawl, public radio, and the intrawebs.

Ah, decadence . . . .

Sex talk.

The reciprocating action of an internal combustion engine makes silly menfolk think of sex.

So do motorcycles.

Meanwhile, Allah loses yet another recruit:

I was quite amused by the opportunistic use of terms.
Metaphors a la men. ;)
