I had a good time but I am sure I would have a much different experience going now as an adult than as a teenager then. I would be able to do more things and more freedom to explore.

It's such an enormous country, it's so close to the UK, I've been loads of times, but there's still so much of it left to see I think it's best to do a little bit at a time, although there are common threads. The bakery in every tiny village, the cheese and pâté, the vineyards, the ever present 'Rue Gambetta', the instant refusal of whatever it was you asked for followed by a slow turnaround if you just wait. These are my (fond) impressions of France
