Hold it, hold it, hold it.... they destroyed mahogany shelving???![]()
I don't know if I am crying more over that or the remodeled "library".![]()
D&D... I haven't played that... well in far more than 20 years.Wow. In college, I'd go from the library over to the pool hall below one of the buildings. That was always a good time. After pool, we'd head over to the pizza place before going home to hang out with the typewriter to push out yet another paper. It was a recurring theme. Haha!
I still play Mrs Pacman online sometimes. It's the Nintendo one with all the fun boards.
I should have... but I left it with her and didn't make copies or save it. It was a torturous labor of love. Dear 82 year old woman wanted to get a laptop for email. But she got so frustrated because... the same button turned it both on and off. Yes. That is correct. And that was just the beginning. It's a really good thing I liked her. She passed away a handful of years ago. Universe only knows where that book is now. Probably in some landfill.
Hypocritical opportunistic wasteful cretins.
I already have too much shit.......
I was fucking pissed. They didn't leave scraps big enough to salvage because believe me I would have. I consider that criminally wastefull. They spent a month on demolition. I could have salvaged it faster than they demolished.
I seriously think what they did was turn loose some delinquents and told them to tear out those shelves and they just beat the hell out of them.
You and me both. I think I own six canes, like walking canes. I don't use a cane.
Trade them for swordcanes.
Some college buddies and I just started again. It's so much fun! Revisitimg all the old characters and monsters...and all of us so much more creative now, and so much more concerned with...I can't call it "realness," but...reasonableness, believability. It's great. We have boys' weekends and ship the women folk off to...whatever they decide to do.
Too bad! I'm sure you'll have the opportunity again. Priceless.
Indeed. The most amazing thing about politics to me these days is the way people will believe any fucking thing they're served by their chosen tribe. A wall will make us safer. Guns cause crime. Welfare recipients are on drugs. Etc ad nauseam. Very few people want to go where the evidence leads. This board is rife with the worst kind of blinkered partisan bullshit. If you stick around long enough, it becomes so predictable and repetitive that it's exhausting and boring. The global warming denialists are still spouting the same old, tired, long-debunked bullshit I was arguing with them about back in 2004. I saw the exact same crap posted today. Same people.
Incredible.
Hahaha... it's good to have that time. I don't think I could get back into D&D. I was never that heavily into it. However I have picked my pool cue back up after a long hiatus. I go twice a week to practice. The game is getting back up to speed... slowly but surely.
In all honesty... I hope I never have that "opportunity" again. That was very frustrating. Granted, the little old lady crew would probably love something like that.
I've seen that. But then it's kind of the nature of things. I've noticed it since the Clinton impeachment stuff and the Bush/Gore election. With Obama's election it skyrocketed further. Gerrymandering hasn't helped... creating artificial boundaries to secure seats in state legislatures and congress. We've become very red and blue, but not so much purple.
The "Cavs In 7" crowd better start sacrificing goats on altars or something, cuz come Friday...

It really is. I haven't played pool in a minute. We had a table in the basement, until I was in middle school or so. Angle of incidence equals...
I'm sure someone is either writing or has written such a thing. Grandmothers everywhere got it in their Christmas stockings.
Indeed. All the screeching on both sides about Russia and voter ID and no one seems to be too concerned about gerrymandering. Except when the other tribe does it. I saw you posting with busybody earlier. If you want to read a really funny thread, find one I did regarding John McCain's candidacy. I'll see if I can dig it up for you. Comedy gold.
Here's one of the funniest ever political threads on the GB.

Angle of reflection... well give or take.Depending on the shape of your bumpers and your english. I grew up with a bumper pool table. Banks have always been my strong point. When I got to college I was introduced to 8 ball by a bunch of sharks. It was a blast. I've got my trick shots mostly back, but it's the consistency issue as my "eye" adjusts.
I don't regularly engage with BB - have him on ignore just because of all the verbal vomit. It may make it a bit slower sometimes, but I tend to prefer quality over quantity. Same with a couple others in that group. I'll hit show post occasionally. And yes, please do. I'd like to read it.(ETA - saw your post and am reading it.)
I'm not thrilled with the targeted voter ID laws and the idea that so many voters jumped on the FB fake news train makes me shake my head, but gerrymandering is the single biggest threat we face right now. I don't really think I can say that strongly enough. It is a huge issue and it is tearing the country apart. People are engaging in what I call the +1 behavior. Competitive oneupsmanship in how to be an asshole, just driving the extremes further apart.

I never got great at english or tricks. There's a table in the in-laws' basement, but it's covered with junk right now. Maybe I'll clear it off and start shooting again. How far are you from Vermont? You can come school me.
He turned into a nasty motherfucker after years of us posting together and having an offline friendship of sorts. I have that name on iggy, but I see the current one. Never really did use iggy much. I just scroll past a lot of nonsense. The forum used to move so fast, be so busy, it was easy to mentally ignore stuff.
I think in some ways Trump is the ultimate expression of trends that we've seen develop and become overt during our lifetimes. People who supported him just didn't care what he said, what he stood for, whether he was a decent person. It was all about liberal tears and nothing else. Power at all costs. This was true with previous elections to some extent, but in those there was actual substance. Trump lied constantly throughout the campaign, said stuff that conservatives would shoot a person for if it was directed at their family, was shown to be lying again and again and again. He was known to be a deadbeat who screwed over small businesses...but he was playing for their tribe. That's one of the things that makes that Giuliani thread so funny to me now; McCain was nothing, then he was a hero, the next president, a great guy, now the current POTUS is a guy who slammed his military service...but Trump is their guy, he's just great. +1 indeed. He makes liberals upset, so everything he does is just groovy. The republic dies by a thousand cuts...not with a bang, but a whimper.
Doubled!
It is long, definitely in doses.
K'boy...hi! Long time no see. Yeah, scrolling through a few pages, I had the same reaction.
I've waded through several pages of that and see that busybody's schtick hasn't changed in over 10 years / dozens of user names, but he does appear to have gotten even stupider through the years.
Just a quick 1400 miles or so to the north and I'll be right there.I do love the banks. Sides, corners, cross corners, long banks. And that's not counting banking the cue ball first. Math/geometry.

I don't know his personal history - just the original name and the style to apply to the new registrations as he is banned. He just seems to want to poke the bear. That's his only setting. Personally, I find the ignore feature nice to aid in decluttering. There are two posters whose topics are always the same tired triteness. It's just easier to not have them be there. Especially when all they are geared for is to get a reaction.
Oh yes, there was definitely vengeance in the Trump vote. What that vengeance sprang from and was sustained by is a multi-faceted discussion. To put it nicely. This election opened my eyes to a couple of very stark realities about this country and world. But hey, it may not matter much because of overpopulation and the environment. Yay. It is... frustrating on many levels. We all march merrily to hell because of the ignorance of self inflicted wounds.
Such happy thoughts before bed. Haha.
Yes. Especially as I really do need to try put myself to bed. 6am is going to come early.
Goodnight.![]()
