I have a mature Metal that was custom made. I was too big for the off the shelf cages. For me it is great for overnight but daily ware is not practical. The issue is that for daily ware it needs to be tight enough to not let the boys squeeze through. If they squeeze through it will hurt and the cage will fall off. If you have the cage tighter it pinches. If I was going to do day ware again I would need to get something around my waist to keep the cage from falling down my pants.

I would say less safe is a good thought.
