It's deja vous all over again!

The Obama administration has offered to help Russia improve its targeting of terrorist groups in Syria if Moscow will stop bombing civilians and opposition fighters who have signed on to a cease-fire and use its influence to force Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to do the same.

The offer early this week of what one administration official called “enhanced information sharing” does not include joint military planning, targeting or coordination with U.S. airstrikes or other operations in Syria.

But it would expand cooperation beyond the “deconfliction” talks the U.S. and Russian militaries began last year to ensure their planes do not run into each other in Syria’s increasingly crowded airspace.

Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter, who has long opposed any additional cooperation, said Thursday that if Russia would “do the right thing in Syria — that’s an important condition — as in all cases with Russia, we’re willing to work with them.”

“The Russians got off on the wrong foot in Syria,” Carter said. The stated purpose of airstrikes Russia began last fall was “to fight ISIL and . . . assist the political transition in Syria towards a post-Assad government.”

It didn't say "classified" information...

As in Hillary never saw a single email labeled "classified."

I would like to believe "The Obama administration has offered to help Russia improve its targeting of terrorist groups" means the sharing of military intelligence that would be "classified."

The US can share it's own intelligence with whom it wants. It should seek allied permission before passing along their intelligence. That's how allies cooperate. And while Trump wishes to be friends with Russia they are not American allies by far.

Go ahead. But it'll never be "President Obama spilling beans to the Russian ambassador."

Different time; different circumstances (besides which, the Obama's Middle East policy wasn't brilliant--and it doesn't justify anything Trump does). And you shills for Trump are certainly paddling hard in an empty pool. :D

Surprise! Trump does something wrong and the Trumpkins have to say (in a whiny tremulous voice) Look look...Obama did something too!

It beats you adding a couple of boulders into your already distressed diaper every time he says something.

Wait! Back the train up!

Obama had a foreign policy for the Middle East?

WTF was it?

Get rid of Israel.

Bow now, draw a line and walk backwards bowing?

Enable, arm the enemy, re-constitute their high command, and assist their ground game.

I'm loving all the people that are worried about offending Israel and Israeli intelligence... who during the entire era of Obama offending Israel in every way he could possibly do so had zero issues with that.

This, like the other "scandals", has nothing to do with Russia. It's hype created for the purpose of making news and roiling the water.

"Oh noes, Trump had an extra scoop of ice cream at dinner. Impeach him now!"
"Look! Trump had a meeting with Comey. IMPEACH him!"
"Great heavens, Trump flew AF1 to FLORIDA of all places. IMPEACH HIM IMMEDIATELY!!!!"

It's a joke. It's become obvious that it's just overblown party politics. Maxine Waters' headline that the D's weren't pushing Trump hard enough proves it. Apparently the only thing in their lives worth doing right now is removing Trump from office. Fuck doing the nation's business, they're concentrating on impeaching Trump to the exclusion of all else.

I am concerned that Trump did what he did. But that doesn't mean I'm hyperventilating to find a way to impeach him like the D's have been literally doing since election day. But this "news" really concerns me on a deeper level.

The staffer who supposedly called the FBI/CIA/HomeSec/etc to report the leak seems like a made-up event. Supposedly there were only 5 people in the room at the time. Trump, Sessions, Rosenstein, and the 2 Russians. No staffers.

So, who "reported" the leak? IF there was a staffer in the room at the time, he/she should be fired immediately. You don't secretly pass along the details of a meeting between the President and foreign officials in the oval office. To ANYBODY.

And, if there wasn't any staff, who lied and said there was?

And, if no one was present and no one lied, where did the info come from? It has to be 1 of the 5 in the room. So, who's the mole?

Agreed. Anything classified Obama decided to disclose would have gone through the channels and decisionmaking process established for that purpose. He would not simply have blurted it in a meeting, that's not how his mind works. But it is how Trump's "mind" works.

A locked room mystery.

Probably the NSA listening to the inconsequential report back to Putin by the Rooskies.
