looking to chat

http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=1349804

hello.....hi.....how are you doing ?

Asia's Q's

1. Have you ever met a lit-ster.

Alas, not thus far. sad case...ain't i? lol if circumstances allowed, i'd make an effort.

2: Guys, is it no biggie if a lady doesn't reply to your PM?

Eh, i usually only PM w/ ladies i know from room, so...but still respect towards her is alway key....if anyone is to seriously expect a reply.

3:Why do guys lie when they chat online?

I prefer to just be myself & have other take or leave it....but i'd surmise men lie cause they got that inflated sense of "she wont like me if i just be myself" syndrome. Seriously guys, give a woman more credit than that.

4: How has my experience on Lit been?

Thus far, (barring the asshole spammers) have met quite a few genuinely nice folk, Miri, LBC, and yes...you also Asia lol.

5: Have i been to Asia area?

alas, not thus far, though LOVE the myth & culture heritage there....wayyyyy cool & rich. if i could, hmm...Japan,(again..the culture) Vietnam, have a best friend from there. China: to try the foods.

6: whats your best experience from lit? this could be anything from a story (tell us which one); a litster; a voice; a picture; something new you learnt about yourself; .... etc etc.

Best, i'd say, just meeting a few genuine, nice people that are here for the same as most, to have fun 'n relax. aside from that, still learning many a thing about myself, so...gotta get back to ya on that.

7:tell me about yourself and what you'd like to chat about.

Hmm, suppose for me, 43 (old ass, ain't i...by today's kids standards..lol) usa, love tunes, strumming, playing, listening to em. value, friendship a good bit, also love a quick wit & funny person, what can i say...lol may i say..."one can have many aquantences in , life....but one needs truly only one genuine, and true friend to be content"

8: have you ever been to a lit gathering? no thus far, almost to a meeting w/ some chatters in Canada once, but life intervened (fam member assaulted...court...all that stuff) so...didn't work out.

Thanks, Asia,,,love these things...hehe

Hey there Crimson... so glad you decided to contribute to my forum as your first post! and I'm glad to be able to make your lit experience a good one! :)

if you are ever headed towards this side of the world, let me know. :)

I'm pretty new to Literotica and still trying to feel my way around. I saw your post several days ago, mainly because it said Asian. While I live in a college town in the Midwest US and there is a fairly large population of Asians, I just have never had the opportunity to have more then a platonic relationship. Quite a bummer since I am very attracted.

So anyway I saw your post and have thought about you're questions. I haven't read your other responses but I will answer a couple.

1. If I PM a woman do I expect a response...... For me yes. It doesn't have to be much but I would still like one. I don't PM very often so if I do that means I was interested and serious. I f I get no response then I take it she wasn't or worse didn't like me.

2. Why are men liars online...... I suppose a lot of people do of both sexes. Not sure why. I not one of them though. You see, I don't know any of you and probably never really will, so why lie? Now I'm not saying I wouldn't say a little fib to spare someone's feelings but if you're asking me questions I don't see the reason to fake it. That's just me.

mroguepro's answers to Asian's questions

1. Have you ever met a lit-ster?
If you did, how did it go?
If you havent, would you?

No...but am totally open to the idea

2. Guys, if you send a PM to a woman, are you really expecting a reply or is it "no biggie" if she doesnt send you a reply? How do you feel?

Always nice to receive a reply...but no biggie...people may be busy, or looking for something different, so understand they may not be interested. However, I do like to be treated with politeness and respect, although I do understand that women may be forced to adopt a prickly exterior in order to deal with some men who won't take no for an answer.

3. This probably happens with both sexes, but since I generally chat with guys, my question would be: why do guys lie when they chat online?

I cannot answer this question, since I'm interested in honest, intimate conversation, so I'm always truthful.

4. How has your experience on lit been? if you have any particular experience you'd like to share, please do so.

I have had some truly enjoyable, intimate conversations with a variety of both men and women. People are different, and have arranged their intimate lives in many different ways...fascinating!

5. Since I'm from South East Asia, have you been to this region?
Yes? Please share where you've been and what you liked/disliked about it.

I have visited most of the major cities in the region, mostly on business. It's wonderful to meet locals, experience a little of the local cultures, and even see some of the different histories (although the major cities are mostly "modern", and so look mostly like big cities all over the globe. The only thing to dislike is the weather, which can be hot and humid...although it would have been nice if these cities had managed to retain a little more of individuality of their cultures.

No? Well, if you could, where would you go? Why that destination?

Still have to go to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia!

6. whats your best experience from lit? this could be anything from a story (tell us which one); a litster; a voice; a picture; something new you learnt about yourself; .... etc etc.

I have enjoyed some of the stories ("A Bet in Branson" and it's sequel are among my favorites), and some of the conversations I have had on Chat.

7. tell me about yourself and what you'd like to chat about.

Retired, very happily married, grown children, still in very good health/shape. I enjoy intimate conversation that I at least believe to be honest; and I think it is, usually!

8. have you ever been to a lit gathering?

No

bi11ionaire, JeffyD, mroguepro - Thank you for your posts! It's refreshing to get well thought-out contributions to my forum. I'll reply to each of your post shortly but wanted to get some ideas on how to make this forum even more interesting and for it to continually grow. Any thoughts?

bi11ionaire - welcome to the thread.

1. have you met ms-sydney again? how is that going?
2. while I agree that one can suddenly receive a torrent of PMs, I dont think its so much as messages slipping through the cracks but just an overall feel that there's not much similarity with the person. For the most part, I try to reply to every message but I'll agree that there are some who are just totally annoying.
4. what have you learnt? would you share those with us?

I'll add just one question: where are you from? at least, which region, if you're not comfortable stating your location in a public forum.

and of course, the question everyone is thinking about: since when did you achieve bi11ionaire status? :D

JeffyD - Thank you for your post! I agree with what you said - with the exception of not wanting to hurt someone's feelings, I also see no reason to lie.

I hope to hear more from you...there are many other questions in the forum haha!

Enjoy lit! :)

mroguepro - Your name is familiar, not sure if we have chatted in the lobby..? anyway, welcome to the thread.

Your reply to Q2 resonated, I relate to it. I'll admit that there have been times where I've adopted a "prickly exterior" towards some litsters, even if they are just PMing. Its not the norm but when one has been on lit (or other sites) as long as I have, we get a sense of who's real and who's not, so when we are constantly bombarded with ridiculous messages (read: lies and/or sweet nothings), it gets annoying really quick. That said, I'd still say that most messages/posts deserve a reply.

5. Weather within SE Asia - haha, I understand what you mean. I myself prefer cooler weather. Some countries within the region have that so its not all bad. I was in Taiwan during Christmas (ie: their winter) so it was a change of weather for me, and I loved it!

I would also like to travel to those countries! :)

Thanks for contributing to my forum!

Thanks for starting this thread, Asian...I actually think this is a great conversation to have around the whole Lit experience...and yes...I'm often in the Lobby (and other rooms!), and we have conversed a little.

As for the prickly response that some women give to some unsolicited PMs, I should emphasize that it really is in many ways understandable...lapidary female responses is a much smaller problem than the blizzard of PM requests, often couched in unappealing terms, that women seem to receive on this site.

You say it so eloquently!

btw, any ideas on how to make this forum thread grow?

Growing the thread

btw, any ideas on how to make this forum thread grow?
I came here because you mentioned the thread in the Lobby, Asian...so that's clearly one practice that helps.

I could also imagine the thread spawning other conversations, for example on considerations around meeting other Litsters, our more detailed experiences from doing so.

[For some reason I seem to have messed up the "quote" feature...the first line is quoted from Asian's earlier post]

mroguepro - ah yes, many have actually sent me a PM (whether in the chat room or through lit's email system) on the ruse of "discussing the questions" because apparently, they do not post in the forum. Well, I think there is a first time to everything!

Guys - if you're reading this and you opt to do the above - please be advised that this forum thread was created so that the "discussions" would be held within the forum.

mroguepro - I might just add that example of yours into "The List" haha. why dont you start? are there any detailed experiences that you'd like to share? what are your considerations before meeting up with other litsters?

** For convenience, here's a list of all the topics that we've talked about:

1. Have you ever met a lit-ster? I have not.
If you did, how did it go?
If you havent, would you? I would, if I got to know them really well and there was some trust, not looking to hook up with randoms though.
2. Guys, if you send a PM to a woman, are you really expecting a reply or is it "no biggie" if she doesnt send you a reply? I would like a reply usually, but while it's not "no biggie," it certainly isn't the end of the world. How do you feel? Mostly I would feel curious about why I got no response, which of course might lead me to ask more questions of them, which might push them further away...so I just think about it and move on.
3. This probably happens with both sexes, but since I generally chat with guys, my question would be: why do guys lie when they chat online? Everybody lies. Not all the time, and for various reasons. I would think that since this is the internet, people might be worried about giving away too much personal info in case of running across a malcontent who might use that info against them or that they may be uncomfortable sharing true details with people they do not know yet. While I will withhold the obvious stuff (where I live, my real name, etc.), I don't want to lie, because it would just be a waste of everyone's time. Plus, you have to start somewhere when getting to know people.
4. How has your experience on lit been? if you have any particular experience you'd like to share, please do so. It's been interesting, there's a lot to explore and a lot to talk about with many people.
5. Since I'm from South East Asia, have you been to this region?
Yes? Please share where you've been and what you liked/disliked about it.
No? Well, if you could, where would you go? Why that destination? No, and I am not great at jumping into a new place and getting the best out of it, so I generally travel to reunite with friends and family, who can help me better access the place.
6. whats your best experience from lit? this could be anything from a story (tell us which one); a litster; a voice; a picture; something new you learnt about yourself; .... etc etc. I have met some very kind souls who were supportive and patient. I admitted something about myself to people for the first time and got some good advice.
7. tell me about yourself and what you'd like to chat about. Scatterbrain, poor multitasker, anything and everything.
8. have you ever been to a lit gathering? I have not.

Not forgetting: do you have any thoughts/questions to ask and share?
I might be a little rough around the edges at times, it's probably not intentional. :rose: How has your experience been going? It seems you've been here for a while and still hang around, so I'm guessing there must be at least some good you find here.

Let's go...pick one topic and talk about it at length, or answer all, if you like!

Feel free to join in! :)

The original post:

i'm bored and would like to chat with someone who's interested in more than sexual chat. (Yes, I know this is literotica) :)

Allow me to clarify: no, we WONT be chatting or role-playing about your fantasies - at least, not on the first chat and not if I dont know you. Thank you for understanding!
Interesting to see you post here, alexicon.
Yup, the way you answered/posted shows your scatter-brained-ness. :D

In the interest of keeping this easy, I'll ask only one question with reference to your reply in Q6 above --> so what is it about yourself that you admitted? sounds like you felt liberated after that...!!

A Thread on Meeting Other Litsters?

mroguepro - ah yes, many have actually sent me a PM (whether in the chat room or through lit's email system) on the ruse of "discussing the questions" because apparently, they do not post in the forum.

Ah, Asian...I don't think I'm the best person to start that thread on meeting Litsters in person, since I have never done it (folks from other sites, yes, but never Lit). But someone who has...would be great. Maybe even live-blog the meeting ;)

1. Have you ever met a lit-ster? No I haven't, might be fun though, if any were near me...
2. Guys, if you send a PM to a woman, are you really expecting a reply or is it "no biggie" if she doesnt send you a reply? How do you feel? When I don't get a reply I do tend to feel rather disappointed and wondering what the reason might be. But generally it's worse when a conversation started and seemed to go well, and then suddenly stops. But at the same time, I won't lose much sleep over it.
3. This probably happens with both sexes, but since I generally chat with guys, my question would be: why do guys lie when they chat online? I never lie about anything. I'm probably too open about stuff.
4. How has your experience on lit been? if you have any particular experience you'd like to share, please do so. I've had some really fun experiences, and met fun people. I've also written a couple stories. So all good :) I think I'm not active enough on the forums though!
5. Since I'm from South East Asia, have you been to this region? No I haven't, I don't travel much.
6. whats your best experience from lit? this could be anything from a story (tell us which one); a litster; a voice; a picture; something new you learnt about yourself; .... etc etc. Nothing particularly standout yet - though nicest is chatting with a couple women from here :)
7. tell me about yourself and what you'd like to chat about. Geek, programmer, corny sense of humour, mischievous personality, filthy mind. I like to chat about anything from geek stuff to science to personal experiences to tastes in porn, and I'm pretty easy.
8. have you ever been to a lit gathering? Nope, doubt there are any from where I'm from!

You misunderstood.

I'll restate the questions here again:
- are there any detailed experiences that you'd like to share?
- what are your considerations before meeting up with other litsters?

geekerotica - welcome to the thread!

You allude to it so many times, it has to be asked: where are you from?

Update - if your profile is accurate, then you're in South Africa. I'm pretty sure there are quite a few litsters based there, some are regulars in the chat rooms too.

There were a few things, not stuff I'd share with just anybody though. It IS quite liberating talking about sex with so many new people though. Seeing some new views and even fetishes.

Criteria for meeting another Litster IRL:
1) Being nearby (including nearby when traveling)
2) We should have chatted enough to believe we like one another
3) Believe that the other person is who she says she is

Those are certainly necessary conditions...they may even be generally sufficient!

Questions

My answers below...

While I still would like to chat (with the right person/people), this thread has mostly evolved into a form of sharing/discussion. (See below ** for list of topics).

If you'd like to chat, please tell me about yourself as well as what interests you (see Q7). If we match, I'll definitely post you a reply. However, if all you're looking for is to talk dirty, please don't waste both our time.

** For convenience, here's a list of all the topics that we've talked about:

1. Have you ever met a lit-ster?
If you did, how did it go?
If you havent, would you?
well, I was introduced to lit by a friend, and I meet her every 6m or so - does that count?

2. Guys, if you send a PM to a woman, are you really expecting a reply or is it "no biggie" if she doesnt send you a reply? How do you feel?
no, definitely not... and don't really send any PMs

3. This probably happens with both sexes, but since I generally chat with guys, my question would be: why do guys lie when they chat online?
i used to chat online through things like yahoo, but was mainly video chat - so not easy to lie when someone can see you!
What do you think guys lie about?

4. How has your experience on lit been? if you have any particular experience you'd like to share, please do so.
i love it and come on once a day. Usually just to browse, occasionally when I need picking up!

5. Since I'm from South East Asia, have you been to this region?
Yes? Please share where you've been and what you liked/disliked about it.
No? Well, if you could, where would you go? Why that destination?
yes, lots. I lived in Malaysia for a bit and now live in china. I've lived in Asia for 7 years on and off with work. I travel a lot in the region: to Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Australia India, vietnam. I love the diversity of each country, and the warmth of the people. I love the craziness of the cities, especially India, china and Thailand, and the peace and beauty of the countryside. The wildlife and scenery is always amazing. Oh and the food!!!!My family and I always holiday in Asia as well as living in the region. Best food = Malaysia ;-). Favourite city is shanghai, but then I've lived there for a long time. I love Thailand - best place I stayed was in Hua Hin. Also love places like borneo and remote parts of china, like Yunnan province.

6. whats your best experience from lit? this could be anything from a story (tell us which one); a litster; a voice; a picture; something new you learnt about yourself; .... etc etc.
there are some groups I've joined which always turn me on and I have fun there. I discovered my exhibitionist side, which I didn't even know i had. Lots of favourite stories and people.

7. tell me about yourself and what you'd like to chat about.
36, married with two beautiful kids. Love travel and food - am learning to cook. Especially love learning to cook traditional Chinese food. I love films, especially comedies but also old classics. I really want to be able to read music and so I've started learning the piano... and I starting to get fit, which I enjoy much more than I thought!

8. have you ever been to a lit gathering?
No

Not forgetting: do you have any thoughts/questions to ask and share?

I've never had anybody local chat to me... Often my conversations with other folk on Lit fizzle out because of timezone differences... :( Would be interesting to chat to somebody more local, could be fun? :D
