New To The Group

Hello to all! I am new to this who thing, but here goes.

I am 67 years old, retired but still working. I left the USA in 2004 after retiring out from a stressful upper management job (V. P.). I live in South America and I love it! I teach English to supplement my SSA income. It is enough and we live well.

I remarried a local lady and it was good until she went through menopause. The sex life stopped (for her). I feel like I am a teenage again, masturbation and boggling every woman I see. I am not into "buying it" and don't want to do that anyway due to the STD's thing. Not into being unfaithful as this is a small town and I would be found out in two seconds.

So, not sure what or where to go. Maybe something will work out here. What I am looking for is simply friendship and communication.

Thanks!

Like what?

I was a rugby player, and still coach. Special moments with my teammates and my players will always be embedded in my heart. There was nothing like it.

Being a kid growing up by a creek, swinging out on a rope. And jumping off a reailroad trestle.

Cookouts in our backyard when I was growing up, with my aunts, uncles and cousins. My uncle used to start the charcoals with gasoline, no lighter fluid for him. We learned early to stand far away. :D

Special girlfriends, including my most recent. She knows who she is. :) I hope she doesn't completely fly away.

Some very cool travel experiences, which I can still do. But the wonder of some of first time travels is something I can't explain. We were kind of poor growing up, so we never went anywhere. It wasn't til later in life I got to see a few places, and do a few things.

All in all, the good stands out more than the bad. Too much for a Monday? :D

Exercise for Seniors

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side. With a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them as long as you can, then relax. Each day you'll find you can hold this position longer. Try to reach a full minute. After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags and then 50-lb potato bags. Eventually you will be able to lift 100-lb potato bags and hold your arms straight for a full minute. (I'm at this level now). After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag.

Some good information here. Maybe after I get some sleep and am able to remember parts of it I'll try.

Amazingly as ignorant as I am I remember too many things in detail while my wife suffers from short term dementia.
The memory part is mostly why I don't get much sleep. Or maybe lack of lifting enough potato sacks.
About the most exercise I get now is taking my water pill and hurrying to the bathroom from the living room and back once every hour.... or is that once every half hour?

It's nice to see seniors on this mature adult forum.

My wife is still very active sex wise. I think it's because she forgot she's old.

I suffer with domicile incontinence! If I'm out, I can pass up restrooms, but if I'm home, I there every 30 minutes.

Because of foot swelling after two hips years ago I take what I call a water pill to make me urinate the fluids out. Basically I sit on my ass too much which is why my feet and ankles swell.

Now to make matters worse I am getting radiation therapy five days a week for prostate cancer. Apparently doctors know this causes excess urination too. They ask questions. So for the past few nights I've had to get up and pee every hour or so. I expect this to continue as long as I get the radiation which is painless.

Add to this I have to drink 24oz water just before leaving home. It's an hour to the office.

I've been retired nearly 24 years and these treatments should let me live another 24 years if I don't get killed by a jealous teen aged boy.:)

Old age really is not for sissies!

Besides lieing awake nites thinking and worrying about life and death, after I pee it takes most of an hour to fall asleep again. Which means it's almost time to pee.

One thing I have learned from all this............... I'm alive!

I hear you! Have you tried sleepy time tea by Celestial Seasonings? You'll still get up to go potty, but it won't take as long to get back to sleep.

Can you drink your 24oz of water while on the way to radiation? That or get a cute
portable urinal.
