What puzzles me is the hate.

What Conservative Repblicans that have been elected to high positions in our government display is hate.

President Obama chose to keep James B. Comey.FBI Director James Comey was sworn in on September 4, 2013.I supose it was done out of political necessity. Do not fix what is not broken.

What Comey displayed at the Hillary Clinton hearings was his facial expression of hate.

They persecuted Bill and Hillary Clinton for what was common practice among Republicans.

Outright, bare, naked hatred for Hillary Clinton was expressed at Trump rallies.Permission to express hate was given, and it was expressed violently.

Hate, a reason to feel united in hate. Meanwhile, the people who look to Trump to harness that hate, are coldly calculating.

Everything that America is valued for, is getting erased. It took forty years, and every horror is falling into place.

The Constitution and America may no longer exist, in the forms that they were in, before Trump.

Yes, hate is useful.

But, why the hate, in the first place ?

They've been ginned up to hate. Quite literally. Look at the conservative media. Even the "mellow" ones like Fox News. They are told all of these "us vs. them" stories, concisely packaged and put into terms that even the lowest common denominator can understand and run with. It's an emotional appeal used to manipulate and control. For money, for votes, for power.

Hate and fear. Old story. Highly effective too. No discounting that appealing to people's fears works. A lot easier than appealing to hope and charity feelings. Doing evil is always easier than doing good. Being lazy is way easier than be hard working and diligent.

Most conservative republicans are religious. Nothing breeds hate, intolerance and we're better than you more than good old fashioned religion. You think their hatred of abortion is about 'murder' No, its because they oppose it for religious reasons.

Also note all religions historically repress women and you won't find a better example of wanting to repress women than repugs and especially that thing Bannon, you know the real president.

Exactly! An objective reading of the Bible (OT especially) reveals God to be a vain, capricious, vengeful, misogynistic, genocidal sociopath.

I doubt that everybody who is anti-abortion is like that for religious reasons. There are just to many anti's for that. Some are, of course, but most do believe it is akin to murder, and that was the law for a long time. Personally, I am pro-choice.

I don't know about all religions, but fundie Christians and Muslims repress women, with the latter being the worst. It's interesting that Liberals are more supportive of the Muslim faith.

Or here are some examples: https://us.search.yahoo.com/yhs/sea..._ver=10.0&os=Windows+10+Home&p=liberal+hatred

Trump supporters did express dislike of Hillary, but there is more hatred of Trump expressed on this forum and in general than there ever was, anywhere, of Hilly. Generally speaking, Liberals hate more than their Conservative counterparts. Just look at demonstrations, etc. for proof of that.

"Dislike" of Hillary? Repeated chanting of "lock her up, lock her up!" and "Trump the Bitch" t-shirts, and Trump's exhortations to "knock the crap out of" demonstrators?

Can you name one news commentator who's the liberal equivalent of an Ann Coulter, a Rush Limbaugh, a Sean Hannity or Bill O'Riley, or that lunatic Alex Jones in terms of spewing hate filled venom? Go on, put up or shut up.

What Conservative Republicans that have been elected to high positions in our government display is hate.

Care to give any examples of this hate?- nah, your type just likes to case the mindless, unsubstantiated aspersion.

Let's see ... let's talk about hate. As much as some of us detested Obama, we didn't riot, we didn't beat people as, say that adjunct professor at Berkeley did to a young female Republican. The vitriol directed at Trump- admittedly, he makes himself a target- is the most impressive I've seen in the USA.

The Constitution and America may no longer exist, in the forms that they were in, before Trump.

What a hysterical, even idiotic comment. Of course, Obama tried to rule via the administrative state more than any president, and got slapped down by the courts for doing so more than any president in history. Your claims about Trump are baseless and, of course, unsubstantiated.... but that's not surprising, coming from you.

Finally, no hate is not useful. Strong opposition, yes, but hate destroys the hater as much the the hated. People of your persuasion are hardly strangers to hatred, and it is bared in the ugliest of manners against Trump and those who express support for him.

Trying to understand and explain hate is like trying to understand why rain is wet, it gets us no where, also finger pointing at who is more hateful, Libs or Conservatives? what a waste of time.

All I know is the real threat is not from outside but from within, Americans are so busy tearing ourselves apart, who needs enemies when we are fighting each other?

Our very freedoms are threatened not by the Russians or Isis, but from our very own stupidity and selfishness...God help us.

Maidboy has a point. It's the RWCJ types who spew the hate. The demonstrations are not expressions of hate. They may be expressions of disquiet. You're a Trumpista so you are blind to the hateful rhetoric and disquieting policies of the T-Rump regime. Or maybe not blind but a full supporter of racist policies and unworkable economic plans.

The comparison of the reactions to Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are fully explained by what/who Donald Trump quite publicly and openly is/does/represents and what he broadcasts.

The hatred for Hillary Clinton and Obama have largely been made up and exaggerated on the basis of the prejudices of the haters. Trump's behavior all across the board hangs out there and slaps you in the face. Nothing has to be made up.

I think it's interesting that liberals are more supportive of the First Amendment, and the right of religious freedom.

Fear and lies mixed with egotism and paranoia? Yep! Yanks got the government they deserved finally.

You're right, but it's from attacks on the US president, not defense of him.

Yes, dislike of her and of her illegal actions. The anti-Hillary chanting, etc. is not as bad as the hate for Trump expressed on this forum. Just look around you.

Well, there's Rachel Mad Dog and Keith Overbearing, to name two.

The commentator you mention do not spew hate, but they do sometimes express disagreement.

Religious freedom, yes, but I'm not so sure of the rest of the FA, especially freedom of speech.

I know it's a gray area when it comes to government officials knowingly lying under oath, but most liberals are against it.

Yes, dislike of her and of her illegal actions.

That's mostly a reflection of your prejudice and hatred (as brought up by this thread). Her activities have been Swiftboated and blown all out of proportion to serve the hatred you and others show. She has done nothing like the Trump crew is doing now and you are either condoning or doing what you can to ignore.

This blatant and ridiculous hatred spewing by the reactionary faction here is downright irrational. There seem to be more of them on this porn story forum than is their share of the population at large even.
