Undoubtedly so. However the finger wagging was a bit much and moved past self confidence to self-aggrandisement. IMHO, anyway.
There certainly are consequences to elections, no argument here.
I thought it more than a little unusual to state so boldly "My administration wants to work with members in both parties [other stuff] .... and to promote clean air and clear water" while the ink is still drying on the executive order rolling back the Clean Water Rule. But whatever, elections have consequences.

Sometimes certain law and regulations are removed to put better ones, not because they are bad ideas.
In this case, it didn't define property rights. So Trump wants it re-written.
