A dead SEAL, politics, and Trump.

Undoubtedly so. However the finger wagging was a bit much and moved past self confidence to self-aggrandisement. IMHO, anyway.

There certainly are consequences to elections, no argument here.

I thought it more than a little unusual to state so boldly "My administration wants to work with members in both parties [other stuff] .... and to promote clean air and clear water" while the ink is still drying on the executive order rolling back the Clean Water Rule. But whatever, elections have consequences.

Dear God.

You speak as if Trump and his team want dirty water...

Sometimes certain law and regulations are removed to put better ones, not because they are bad ideas.

In this case, it didn't define property rights. So Trump wants it re-written.

LOL....I guess war and getting your people killed for shitz n' giggles is only good when (D)'s do it.

Can't wait to watch BND freak shit when Trump drone strikes a US citizen.

Just like all those hippies were OK with President Johnson (D) bombing the crap out of Vietnamese villages, right? But I bet just the thought of brown skinned peasant farmers burning with napalm gives guys like you a raging hard-on, right? I also bet you're not man enough to enlist and put your money where your mouth is. You'd rather sit on your ass and be a keyboard warrior and let the folks from the 'hood, barrio and trailer park do the fighting and dying for you. So come on Pee-Pee, man up and walk the walk instead of talking the talk, before a band of hijab-wearing Muslim feminazi lesbians take a strap-on to your sorry ass.

Ohhhhh god the amount of wrong in this one is just beyond delicious!!

They are yellow, like me, and only the blood of commies gets my dick hard....

I know why the sky is blue, do you?

I have a mustard stain, do you?? Hehehehe

A band of getting shot in the face mooks you mean?

They didn't stand a chance when they had RPG's , PKC's and a clear shot.

What the fuck makes you think their women would get anywhere with a strap on son? :D

Jesus Christ. Will this place ever get a decent funny troll/alt again? Sure it's fun to laugh at how wrong they are but that gets old.

It's just embarrassing at this point. Like watching the POGs fallout during battalion runs....

Oh, look...the gay baiting racist ghoul is back in the saddle again. You aren't a liberal. You're trash.

When he's not stalking and racism and gay bashing men in this forum,
He goes in the GB lounge and brags about his sexual prowess and numerous sexual conquests.
Totally believable.

And his latest selfie in the Breasts Thread showed calcified toenails which probably haven't been cut in two weeks.
I'm sure that all his female conquests dig that.

1) Personally, I'm into the Ladies, but hey, to each their own.

2) Your craven cowardice and utter lack of awareness.

Bragging about your sexual prowess is common among 16 year old boys whose experience is limited to choking their chicken while watching Miley Cyrus videos.

Calcified toenails? Is that a fungus?

Time for me to stop trolling the wingnuts... it's getting old...

That's one spin. The other was that it was just one of a few "in your face" moments for the democrats. Moments he executed with considerable aplomb, don't you think.

According to Ish -- and an astonishing number of folks in the media -- the entire concept of paying tribute to members of the military killed in action originated with Donald Trump.

I find the projection pretty funny, they all say the same shit because it's their own insecurity.

Like watching the POGs fallout during battalion runs....

That slinky is a killer bruh!!

And it's always the loudest mouthed ones too....or that one buddy fuckin' dirt bag, you know he's going to the S shop or made someone's coffee bitch for embarrassing 1SG. Those make me grin too b/c I knew they were coming off the line.

1) I'm not into sex at all, I just like fighting and making money. :D

2)What cowardice or lack of awareness? I think you mistake my apathy and nihilism for cowardice and lack of awareness.

Typical Right Winger, I guess. Farewell Pee-Pee and good luck with your joyless, meaningless life.

I would hope he does not make any calls on the millatry contrary to the military's recommendation. I would expect the same of any president that hasn't served and obtained a high level leadership role.

He listened to the generals recommendation. Seems Obama did in this case as well.

Someone died. That sucks. Happens often on a lot of missions we do and do not hear about.

It is ultimately his responsibility and I wish he would say that. But I do not wish he would have declined the mission as that's what the generals recommended.

He's commander in chief of the military.

I mean, it sucks we both agree he is so woefully unfit to make military decisions, but part of his job is to literally keep the generals in check. It's why he's their boss. So I disagree, I would rather he not simply blindly follow their advice. That office exists in that capacity for a reason. Again, granted, he's probably not qualified but, here we are. *shrug*

If by right you mean fan of max liberty.....sure.

Republican? Nah, don't care for their brand of socialism either. :D

Joyless? Meaningless? LOL what makes you think I'm either of those things?

I'm guessing narrow minded assumptions

I suppose many of you are aware of the stink the press and the democrats are trying to gin up regarding the SEAL operation in Yemen this past Jan. 29th.

Dad and investigation demand.

While the father is lashing out in anger, his anger is misplaced. But I do agree that an investigation has to be done, in depth, and by the FBI.

The gathering of intelligence behind the operation began last summer. As more and more evidence mounted the idea of a raid to scoop up as much hard intelligence as possible started taking place. A commitment was made and training began. The operation was originally planned for early Jan. but the team leader requested a postponement until the New Moon (Jan 27th) so as to be able to take full advantage of their night vision equipment. While this decision worked to the benefit of the team on the ground it increased the risk associated with flight operations.

Almost immediately upon advancing on their objective the team started taking fire from two sides. They had moved into what is called a 'kill sack.' The jihadists KNEW they were coming and had set up an ambush. The reason the women and children were there is for use as human shields and propaganda value. Obviously the propaganda worked.

That begs the question, "How in the hell did the jihadists know the operators were coming?"

Flash forward about 10 days. I'm watching an interview that Charlie Rose was doing on the subject with a former State Dept. dweeb. The dweeb, with all seriousness and what came across as a certain amount of pride, explained the procedures associated with these sort of operations. DoD notifies State, State palavers with various interested 'allies' and then gets back to DoD with clearances. When DoD sets the date, State is once again notified and the other 'interested parties' are given the 'heads up.' First of all this is a procedure than only a group of lawyers who will never have their asses on the line could dream up. Secondly why not take out a full page ad in the New York Times? There is no way operational security can be contained with so many people in the operational decision loop.

The Special Operations community are convinced that the leak came from State, and they are most likely right. The reason that an investigation is called for is to determine whether the leak was some dweeb with a big mouth or malicious intent, or as a direct result of the procedures put in place.

Regardless, Trump didn't have a damn thing to do with the procedures and he and his new Sec. State were probably unaware of those procedures put in place by the prior administration. It can be argued that he shouldn't have signed the op order until he did know those details. But it could take up to a year before all of the new cabinet members manage to burrow down to that level of detail effectively prohibiting any action on any intelligence. Which sets the administration up for the accusation, "Well if you knew about it, why didn't you do anything about it?" if some attack was carried out against the US or our allies. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Add to it that the Democrats have been stonewalling and making life so miserable for candidates that they are not getting confirmed and some are beginning to withdraw from consideration because they do not want to be treated like a baker, a photographer or Chick-fil-A by the left-wing bully squad...

This President dragged out the crying widow for the purpose of obligatory flag waving specifically to counter the call for an investigation. It was entirely a calculated and self serving act by this Administration and had nothing to do with honoring the memory or the uniform.

Period.

I like how suddenly everyone who never gave a shit about the uniform and regularly trash those in it suddenly get all concerned when an (R) get's them killed.

LOL....I guess war and getting your people killed for shitz n' giggles is only good when (D)'s do it.

Can't wait to watch BND freak shit when Trump drone strikes a US citizen.

A Democrat would never, ever waive a victim in our face, or post daily about how many died under Republican leadership...

;)

They have the high ground. :nods:

Ishmael still did not answer my question tho. Why those military officers remained seated. And if any reference exists as to when this mission started to be in the works.

They are not allowed to make public political statements and standing would do just that.

A US serviceman died.

That happens in war. It happens whoever is Commander in Chief. If the raid and timing were leaked the troops were very fortunate, or very skilled, to have got away losing only one SEAL.

People die in wars. For the family it is a disaster but that is what happens when we are at war.

In 20th Century conflicts countries could suffer thousands of fatal casualties in a single day. The families of those troops killed didn't get much recognition.

If you are at war, and the West is at war with jihadists, we expect to kill more of them than they kill of us, but we will lose some troops (and civilians).

We have to accept that freedom has a price.

In a firefight, sometimes people get killed. That's kinda the point.

I suspect though, that this will get blown out of proportion just like Benghazi was.

Re. Benghazi, there were three fold issues there. First was that a request was made for enhanced security well before the attack, months even, and no action was taken. Secondly when the attack occurred and a request for help was sent out, none was sent. As a matter of fact the reaction forces were ordered to 'stand down.' And lastly was the out and out lie about it being provoked by some YouTube video. It was known when it happened, as it happened, that it was a terrorist attack.

It comes as no surprise to me that the most important point regarding the Yemen raid is being overlooked or steadfastly avoided. That fact being that the jihadists KNEW the SEAL's were coming and were prepared. Under those conditions it would have made no difference as to who signed the final order of execution, none at all.

Not only were the results predictable, but it is amazing that there was only one US causality!!!!!!

As long as everyone wants to sit around and point their stubby little fingers at people that had nothing to do with the leak, the real source of the problem, the leaker and/or the procedure, will go unaddressed.

The Military is laying this squarely at the feet of State, deserved or not. (And given the nature of the other leaks that have been reported, State is the most likely source.) Until the source of the leak(s) is resolved the Military is NOT going to willingly share any information with State, and will not trust or be willing to act on any information provided by State. What with the ongoing terrorist threat to the US, its interests, and our allies, that is an intolerable situation.

I predict that the new administration IS going to initiate criminal investigations into the source(s) of these leaks and I further predict that there will be 'reports' in the press sourced from unidentified 'sources' that a 'witch hunt' is taking place in an attempt to imply that those poor dedicated civil servants are being "victimized" by the Trump administration.
