Judge Joseph Wapner, who rose to fame on "The People's Court," has passed away at 97.

Wow, 97!

I was going to say that he definately is gonna, definately gonna be missed.

Now I got nothin'.

I hadn't realized he was only on the show for 12 years, and not since 1993. It left such a big pop culture footprint, it just seemed like he must have done it longer than that.

:( I was watching his show when I learned my brother had died. I was never able to watch his show after that. RIP. Can't believe the judge was 97.

He was the most judge-like of all the tv judges, imho.

As a young lawyer i did a fair amount of trial work in the lower courts.

There was a family court judge who would instruct the court reporter to stop recording, then get out his Bible and tell the wife all the reasons why she should obey and cleave unto her man.

Great court for husbands; guaranteed win.

Wapner was less crazy than most judges.

Agreed, not prone to theatrics. And he actually cited the law behind most of his decisions.

Ishmael

Didn't realize he was as old as he was. Both he and his program maintained an air of legal decorum unlike others. RIP

I just saw a story on the news where (Not sure, I think it was Animal Planet) shut down the video of a Giraffe giving birth because it violated their nudity policy.
