What the hell am I going to do with a day off in the middle of February
What the hell am I going to do with a day off in the middle of February . . .
I'm a worker. I enjoy work. I've never understood these secondary holidays and why we should not work on these days. What the hell am I going to do with a day off in the middle of February, and what does it have to do with Washington and Lincoln's birthdays? How does wasting a perfectly good work day honour, Washington, Lincoln, Martin Luther the King, Christopher Columbus, Veterans, etc? I'm sure 90% of Americans don't know the significance of President's Day. I remember when we had Washington's Birthday and Lincoln's Birthday as separate holidays, but I don't remember if we had off for them. Since school has become child care for many families, giving them these random days off must really throw a wrench into the works. They should go to school and have a day dedicated to learning about Washington, Lincoln, the office and maybe some other related topics. History, Civics, Art, Literature all focused on this topic. That would make sense. Same with MLK.
I've seen that Labor Day is barely a holiday anymore. Many colleges, disregard it. They have class on Labor Day, which seems odd to me.
My Pop Stand is open today, and we are busy.
