Last chance to block Betsy

The first criteria in the first link is the dropout rate. That's a really stepped on number.

They used several criteria:

"For each state, we considered the percentages of students taking the SAT, ACT and AP tests, and the average scores for those tests. We also looked at the state-level funding-per-student, the student-teacher ratio, the high school dropout rate and the percentage of high school graduates attending college after graduation (read more about our methodology below)."

But as I mention, use whatever you want. I looked at several and the top ten states remained pretty consistent even if they varied in where in the top ten they ranked.

I agree that the top 10 states usually are the ones in the northeast.

Just like sports it's pretty easy to have one really good player, but not be a good team. I imagine that's what this shows as well. Texas & Arizona may have some really good schools, but they have a lot more really bad schools according to this criteria.

I would guess they have a much larger % of ESL students as well. Just like Florida does I would guess.

End result: not sure I put much stock in total state rankings....

Texas does have a large % of ESL, California has the largest, AZ has a lower % than you'd expect, 8.8%.

The Stupid People lost again.

Poor bastards are on the edge of extinction with leaders like Schumer and Pelosi, and foreign policy experts like Maxine Waters her brain crushed under the heavy weight of delusions like Putin in the process of invading Korea.

California doesn't give a shit if students learn English or not. The government is owned by Democrats trying its best to Balkanize the population and run the English speaking white and black folks out of the state. The leader of the state senate just admitted his whole family is illegal with forged documents.

Instead of detasselling corn, put all those skool chillin to work in the marrywanna fields. That's the future. :)

Oh god. What happened in here?

Flattered by the participation of so many who are so suddenly so eager to talk about common core and teacher's unions and "b-b-b-but Obamaaaaaa!" but this shit is a lot simpler than that - she was unqualified and ethically conflicted and never should have been put up for confirmation. Yes, they would have swapped her out for some other young-earth grenade, and at least we can hope she's too incompetent to figure out how to actually do anything for a while. That doesn't change the fact that 50 R sens + Pence gave the green light to a sheisty moron cuz they're too gutless to break with Mango Mussolini and *obligatory shudder* Bannon.

We see you.

Anyway. She's in. We knew she would be, and I'm glad we tried to stop it. We will keep going. If your senator has received money from Betsy DeVos, we write them again. We hold them accountable. Ask if the money was worth selling out America's teachers and students. Remind them about what is most important to you, and what you expect as their constituents. Remind them that you will be voting. Keep the heat on.

To teachers, students, and parents - I'm sorry, and I'll try to help. To teachers especially, thank you. Amazing teachers will keep on changing lives and illuminating minds and celebrating critical thinking, inquiry, and science, and that is awesome.

But there's no such thing as using forged documents to vote...

You need to find your Sancho Panza. And a donkey.

How is that any worse than the last guy lecturing every teacher and school in America on transgenders, what are (nonscientifically of course) and how they should be accomodated?
Because transgender people are a reality and creationism is a myth.
Assuming he actually did lecture every school and teacher in the US.

By appointing this asshole DJT has broken his promise to make America great again .If you do not have decently educated population you lose your place in the hi-tech world .

Yes BUT ... You really just need the best and the brightest to get the necessary education. The world needs ditch diggers too.

Bear with me. I know this is a grizzly situation. But we must use it as ursine to unite. Fur the good of all.

If you are born XY, that believing you are a female makes you a female is a myth. Just like creationism.
I guess it's a good thing that that's not what the term transgender means.
Identifying with the sex opposite of what you are born doesn't mean you think you're really that sex.
But I can understand your confusion, since the words 'collate' and "article' confuse you.
