You said your keyboard wasn't working, so I'm not sure if it would have helped this time or not, but just in case you didn't know, pressing Alt+F4 (assuming you use Windows) is a shortcut command to close the currently selected open window. I've been able to use this sometimes to 'step back' and shut down pesky popups that don't have close buttons before.

For what it's worth, I checked out the link as well and it was fine on my end. I'm using Chrome with the Ad-Block Plus extension installed though, so maybe that swatted down any malware.
