Vintage 40 Prime THREE

Well the PT talked to the ortho team on Monday...
I'm being hauled in today to see them less then 24 hours later.
Next step may be another MRI. Then who knows what.
It hurts to even have anything touching the left shoulder... like just sitting on the couch.

Sorry to hear the shoulder is giving you so much trouble and pain. Hopefully they'll be able to figure it out and get it fixed right this time.

Thanks Gary.
I have a feeling it has been a combo of things. As careful as I have been on the moving & stuff, things have felt off since the boat ride on Veterans day. Even my older shoulder is now crunching where it never did before that. Then add in doing laundry out to the laundry mat, so I have to carry a basket now not just the pillow cases 10 feet and a few other odd normal things. I think I've retorn the rotator cuff. But what do I know?

I have had various surgeries and other uncomfortable procedures throughout the last year but they are nothing compared to what you have had to bear. Pain has luckily only been a short term issue. I just hate to be under the control of anyone else and to be under all of the restrictions that they impose on me. The next time I start to complain I will need to remember your situation as a way of introducing some perspective into my own.

You are a great role model, Starry. I just wish that you could move on to a happier role in your own life.

yesterday's doctor appointment didn't go well. I posted it in the get well thread so I don't kill off this thread more then normal. I ended up kicking the intern / fellow's ass whose boss is my ortho. New set of xrays was fought for and obtained. Next should be an MRI.

I hope it is not the rotator cuff.

mornings used to be my best time. the past month I'm waking up in 4 - 5 pain level area.
so I need to know why it's back to pre surgery pain levels.
I think I might have torn it again

I have never torn mine, but my wife has and so has a friend of mine. My wife has full range back but my friend does not.

I'm in on both being done now.
The right side is 4 years old and the left one they did end of March.
I think that things got messed up in the 4 hour boat ride veterans day boat parade.
And some where along the move & unpacking I tore the new one again.

That just sucks

That just sucks

yep but I know I was as careful as possible with it on the moving & stuff.
As it is the only ify stuff I do is laundry and groceries & I try to make sure weight is on my right arm only.
The new apartment is half unpacked and at a stand still due to the pain levels.

I just know as far back as the pain levels have moved it can't stay like this.

starry, since the T stands for Tesla, maybe you're in for a smoother ride! :D

Now that the move and reorganization is mostly behind you, it's probably time to ease back a bit . . . yes, I know it's easy for us V40P posters to say that, but you do know what your limits are . . . and when you are pushing them. Let's hope the MRI doesn't show anything too serious. Sit back, enjoy that glass of wine, and take care.

Thanks for the support. I sure hope this is an easy thing.
It doesn't feel like a shift the kind of PT thing. It feels like another surgery.
I'm past nervous due to the pain levels getting worse over the last 3 months but even more so since Christmas.

...and so ends another commercial football season, the halftime was the pits.

I hope this is a job you will like!!!
If not maybe we need to make you a fishing guide :D

Oh, I'd be a horrible fishing guide. Or maybe a great one. I like to fish but I suck at it. So, if you hung out with me you wouldn't feel bad if you didn't catch as much as I did because that wouldn't happen. Same with Skeet/Trap. I have a good time but there is no way I'd end up being competitive.
The new Job should be pretty interesting. They are already calling for me to get to work, even though I haven't been officially hired. I was on a conference call this week with two of my new bosses and they say the actual guy that I'll be working for, that I have met only once, thinks I "Hung the Moon" That will last until Old OX pulls back the kimono and you see how screwed up I really can be. Looking at lots of time away from home and international travel, though. So it could be fun.:)

Congrats on the new job.. keep the kimono wrapped up tight until they realize how much they need you. ;)

The new job sounds interesting. Yell if you land here & if I am mobile I'll take you out to lunch & grab a hug from you & the family. Tell your honey I find out Tuesday when the next surgery on the left / newest shoulder is. Soon is all I know.

The MRI shows a tear where they did work in the supraspinatus tendon & the mess where the tear is in my bicep. So Doc is getting me set up for a clean up surgery. No word on what happened to the fellow who refused to allow me Xrays or a new MRI & tried to tell me that the reason it hurt was I didn't take enough vitamins.

Keep an eye out for a REAL medic and bring them along for me!!! :D

I have been through the wringer but comparisons with you make me feel grateful for my own situation. Thankfully I have a team of competent and caring professionals on my side. One advantage of being in the Philadelphia area is that we attract a lot more talent than in some of the back waters where I have lived before.
