As Mediaite notes, Republican State Sen. Greg Steube unveiled a new piece of legislation aimed at overturning existing gun bans at airports, college campuses, and government meetings.

“If you want to kill as many people as possible before the cops arrive then you are likely to go to a place where law-abiding citizens can’t carry,” Steube argued when introducing his bill, according to the Tallahassee Democrat. “That’s what we’ve seen, time and time again and why I think we shouldn’t have them.”

I've travelled with guns several times. They have to be checked. They have to be declared. They have to be locked. The lock has to be inspected. They never make it past controlled areas.

So yes, you can get it from baggage claim and go to a bathroom. You can also drive to the airport with one in your pocket and walk to baggage claim.

So carrying a gun is perfectly legal in the baggage claim area. Since so many Americans own guns, it's highly likely that lots of people have guns in their checked luggage.

How many people had guns in that area? Why didn't good guys with guns stop the bad guy with the gun?

I didn't include any AR-15 stories like James Holmes in the movie theater shooting because no "good guy" is walking around with them except law enforcement. I don't know anything about airport security.

Regardless, I don't care. I don't carry my gun. I said that the other day. I use it for home use only. There *may* be an exception to the rule if I'm ever going camping or something... but I don't camp or leave my room... or even leave my video game.

First, I need you to tell me how to appropriately take guns away from Americans. I need compensation for my ~$500 Glock 23 and the ammunition I have. It's not much. I may have 300 FMJ rounds for practice and 50 self-defense rounds. How much do I receive for relinquishing my weapon?

Secondly, I'd like to make a motion to make alcohol illegal. I do not drink, refuse to drink, and think alcohol is very dangerous to society. Now, why is it that we're not so upset about the deaths caused by alcohol every year? It's one of the most addictive drugs aside from heroin, cocaine, and meth. Alcohol kills the liver, has very little health benefits, and marijuana is a better alternative. And since YOU'RE the one getting rid of guns, you can figure out how to get alcohol out of America, too.

So there you go. Find a good way to get guns out and find a good way to get alcohol out. Deal?
