NiceThat sounds like a fun game from what I've seen. I've been playing World of Warcraft again lately.
I've played all three classes in wow, I've raid tanked, raid healed, and raid dps'd. I also pvp, which is fun in spurts but I can't handle too much of it.
Xbox or PS ?
And you're a woman... so healer? Hm.. that joke doesn't sound so great in text. Uhh well anyway, what's your favorite? PVP was fun in WoW. I got to level 74 and had a good time messing aroung with players from Horde. I oftentimes got killed but it never felt frustrating or unfair. Then again, I only played it for about 6 months.
Wait, you're the girl who upset all the other women in that pic thread! Hey, how'd that end up working out, btw? Did you lose any sleep over it?
lol I started out as a dps. I chose a hunter because that's what seemed to give people the most trouble back when I picked it. I healed during 2 of the expansions of the game, and I found that fun, but Blizzard has this habit of breaking every class each time they come out with new content now, forcing everyone to relearn how they play their class. What they did with my healer made it pretty much a dps class that also healed a little, but not my cup of tea. I like to be good at something, not kind of good at a few things. So I went to tanking.
The pic thread thing, well I'll take as much responsibility as anyone for that. I guess people don't like seeing pics over and over, and I have to admit it's annoying sometimes. I didn't take any real heat over it though, and I didn't lose any sleep over it.
Yeah, I have Diablo III and some hardcore group added me to their guild or whatever the game calls it. They always talked about Blizzard changing the balance of class design. I remember when I played FF, I would get super pissed when even the slightest change was made to classes I played.
I enjoyed playing Paladin in WoW. The shield throw just destroys everything. In FF, the shield lob is literally just to pull with. It grabs aggro with very little damage. In WoW, you throw a shield and it wipes out everything in front of you.
The only downside to WoW was that if you played with friends and you surpassed them in level, you couldn't play lower leveled dungeons. That was a feature added to FF so it was really off putting when I played WoW.
The Rogue is so awesome, at least to me! I remember just trying to do a quest and I died instantly from some invisible Rogue. I called my friend and was like, "Hey I'm leveling a Horde character."![]()
Just beat Dark Souls 2. On to Dark Souls 3 tomorrow.![]()
Everyone I know that plays wow thinks it's so unfair that rogues can stealth and then pop out, keep you stunned forever while they kill you with no hope whatsoever of you getting a chance to hit them, and then if things happen to go south for them, they just vanish and poof they're gone. That's the fun thing about PvP though, it gets your blood boilingIt does have a way of making it more satisfying when you score a kill.
The class thing has always bothered me. I understand class balancing, it makes the game keep working. But constantly changing, breaking, remaking in a different way, killing off very fundamental talents and skills that each class has used forever, etc. Blizzard has way too much time on their hands. They never *just* design new content, they go back and transform the way you play each time. But I'm sure it's a balancing act to keep their subscribers interested in playing. There's always that race for some players that start new content and finish it and then go afk the rest of that content period.
Congrats! Good luck on 3. Hopefully, you won't die a trillion times in the tutorial zone like I did. For Iudex Gundyr, be sure to keep a lot of distance between you and him during his first phase, and then get nose to nose with him during his second phase. If he tries to collapse on you, just roll behind him.

Damn I fell asleep last night.
I will say, I have heard how annoying it is to be instakilled at any second by some troll. Oh and the people who just camp your dead body, waiting for you to "respawn" (for lack of the proper term). I personally never dealt with that but I'm sure I only scratched the surface of the game.
I do hope you find some people around here who share a similar interest to multiplayer games. And damn, I'm surprised this thread didn't blow up. No love for the gaming community on Lit, I suppose. :/ lol
Thanks, Elsie! It's good to see you. I am going into this game blind so I will probably understand more of your explanation when I die a few times to the first boss. What class did you pick? I hear that the Knight is hands down the best class to min/max with, and I've looked over the choices. Seems about right.
I guess why I'm so excited is because this is the true first Souls game I have ever really gone into blind. Like, I don't know what the first area looks like, what the first enemy mobs are, first boss, etc. I honestly never thought I'd make it. I'm looking forward to PVP this time around. I was always scared of PVP in Souls but DS2 fixed that. So yeah, I'll have to respond to your advice a bit later!
As far as dying a trillion times, I'm sure I'll die quadrillions of times!!!!! That's if I'm lucky!
I'm 62 and love to play.... The Red Dead is so cool. You can ride the horse all over the place and hunt or be a bounty hunter or be a bad guy and rob banks. You can hunt or break horses or just ride.

You're adorable, Spenser. The way you explain it is like how a kid would get excited about a game.![]()
For all you "Souls" gamers out there, have any of you tried Bloodborne? It was my first From Software game and is absolutely one of my favorites. I tried Dark Souls but it didn't quite grab me in the same way.
