The brakes failed on my car, something ruptured, fluid was pouring out and stopping was a bit tricky.
And then, the same day, the dog tore her tail off in an unpleasant accident.

Both are fully repaired now, at not inconsiderable expense.

This years Xmas dinner will be mostly gruel.
